On Labor Day, we give thanks for the dignity of work. Whatever our work may be, we are called to approach it with purpose, integrity, and love, remembering that our work can be an offering to God.

May we find meaning in our daily work and strive to glorify God in all that we do.

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates the beautiful truth that, at the end of her earthly life, Mary was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.

As we honor Mary, may we look to her example of faithful obedience and trust in God, and remember the hope we have of sharing in the glory of Heaven.

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, when Jesus revealed His divine glory to Peter, James, and John. May we, like the apostles, listen to His voice and allow His light to transform our hearts.

Today we celebrate the Feast of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, siblings and beloved friends of Jesus. Their home in Bethany was a place where Jesus was welcomed with love and friendship. May their example inspire us to welcome Christ into our own homes and hearts and to grow in friendship with Him.

Today we celebrate the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandparents of Jesus.

Their lives remind us of the important role that families play in passing on the faith from one generation to the next. May Saints Joachim and Anne intercede for all grandparents, parents, and families, that they may lead their loved ones closer to Christ.

Saint James,
faithful Apostle of the Lord,

You left your nets and followed without delay.

Help us answer Christ quickly.
Remove hesitation from our hearts.
Give us bold faith and willing obedience.

When the road is uncertain, guide us.

Saint James, lead us closer to Jesus.
