Pastor Mark Smith and his wife Lequita planted what is now known as Abundant Life Church in Cu***ng, GA in 2001.

Since then, their church family has grown from just a handful of people to over 150 people every week. Pastor Mark has a three-fold vision: Loving God, Empowering People, and Sharing Life. Through his global vision, he has been able to reach thousands of people for Christ in this community and all over the world. God gave Pastor Mark a unique vision to begin a different church in Cu***ng when he read John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” He really wanted to begin a life-giving church for those who have been beaten down by the enemy.

Pause for a moment and ask yourself, “Am I working out of my own strength or God’s?” If your answer is the first, ask for forgiveness. God is ready to use you His way.

Last week Pastor Mark began a new series called Be Courageous, introducing the difference between belief and trust. Here, he tells the story of the French tightrope walker Charles Blondin. Blondin pushed a wheelbarrow across the rope over Niagara Falls successfully. He then asked the audience if they believed he could do it with a person inside. As they began cheering, it became instantly quiet after he asked for a volunteer.

God is transforming the church back into what Jesus intended: a family. Through emphasizing fathers, sons, and intentional discipleship, He’s developing mature believers ready for the future. Are you growing?

Join us this Sunday, October 11 at 6pm as we welcome back Dr. Ron Cottle.
