Why is it important to understand, without question, that Jesus was and is God incarnate (God in the flesh)?

Too often we see Jesus primarily as an inspirational figure
- He is more than a role model
- He is more than a spiritual mentor
- He is more than an ideal to strive toward

Understanding that Jesus is God is vital for the Christian faith because
- Only God Can Save Us From Our Sin
- Only a divine Savior can
-- Pay the infinite price for human sin,
-- Conquer death, and
-- Rightly receive worship without it being idolatry.
- Only God can be counted on
-- To Care about our wellbeing
-- To have Compassion for our truest spiritual needs
-- To be Committed to our growth, maturity and development
-- To be Concerned about every detail of our needs & daily life
