In this Christmas season, we often focus on giving - but we want our children (and ourselves!) to become gracious receivers too, don’t we?
How do YOU model asking for help to your kiddos?
This was a tricky one for our ever-generous mentor mom panel, but some key advice they offered was:
• Put yourself in places / surround yourself with communities of people that are safe and loving
• Tell someone safe where you truly are at (what your mental/spiritual/physical needs may be) so they can be equipped to offer help
• Get comfortable with saying those words (“I need help”). You can’t expect someone to know you are in need of help if you don’t ask for it!
• Practice accepting help - it may be easier if you start by saying yes to help you don’t really “need” - let people in and let others be part of your village!
• Don’t rebuke the blessing - if someone offers help you need, be willing and gracious to accept it as often as possible.

It’s ! This is our monthly series where we share a sneak peek into the wisdom and experience we get to enjoy from our Mentor Moms each meeting. Today’s question was:
“How do you ask for help?”
🤔 If YOU were asked this question, how would you answer? Do you have a “mentor mom” in your life - someone you look up to or whose kids are a bit older than yours? Share and ask her what she thinks! Let us know your answers in the comments below & give your fellow mommas some fresh ideas. 🤍
