We held out as long as we could and watched the weather closely all day, but unfortunately the thunderstorms have forced us to cancel today’s VBS Kickoff Event from 4:00–6:00 PM.

We know many of you were looking forward to the food, fellowship, and giant water slide, and we’re disappointed too. However, the safety of our families and volunteers has to come first.

The good news is that Rainforest Falls VBS officially begins tomorrow night at 6:00 PM right here at First Baptist Church Alpena! We can’t wait to welcome all of our adventurers for an incredible week as we discover God’s amazing love together.

And don’t worry… we still have one MONKEY of a surprise waiting for everyone! 🐒🌴

The weather is looking promising, and we are excited to move forward with our Rainforest Falls VBS Kickoff Event today from 4:00–6:00 PM if no thunder or lightning.

Bring the kids, invite your friends, and come enjoy an afternoon of fun as we get ready for the best week of the summer!

Our AFBC Softball Team was back in action last night and came away with a split—one win and one loss! We’re thankful for a great group of players who represent our church so well on and off the field.

🏆 Player of the Week: Nicole! 🏆
Nicole earned this week’s honors with an impressive slide that kept the momentum rolling and helped secure an AFBC victory. Way to leave it all on the field!

📣 Fan of the Week: Dustin! 📣
Every great athlete needs a great cheerleader, and Dustin was there encouraging Nicole and the entire team all night long. Thanks for bringing the energy and support!

We’re proud of this team and thankful for the opportunity to build friendships, enjoy some competition, and represent AFBC in our community. Looking forward to the next game!
