Ridgeway's Vacation Bible School starts Sunday morning, 6/28/2026, and ends on Wednesday night, 7/1/2026. This year’s VBS is entitled FRUIT FULL – Living a Spirit-Filled Life in Jesus. There will be classes for all ages, adults included. Supper will be served on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night starting at 5:00 PM followed with singing and then the classes. Nothing is scheduled for Sunday evening. We look forward to a great VBS so bring a friend and see you all there!

David began Psalm 19 noting that he clearly saw the glory of God in the sky above him. He wrote in verse 1: “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.” David looked to the heavens, not the spiritual heaven where God is enthroned, but the heavens of the blue sky and the night sky. In the sky of the day (the blue sky) he saw the glory of the sun and the clouds and the beauty of sunrises and sunsets. In the night sky he could see the brightness of the moon, the awe of the stars and the vast spread of distant galaxies. The size of these, their awe and their grandeur shouted to David, and everyone who would see, that the God who created all this is glorious and this is evidence of His glory. What David saw then we can still see today. We can surely see His handiwork in the firmament. AMEN! In the 8th chapter of his gospel, John captures the words of Jesus in verse 36: “36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” For those in Christ these simple words from our Lord and Savior represent being delivered from the burdens of sin, shame, and fear. It speaks of a total transformation of finding inner peace, forgiveness, and the strength to live a purposeful life. It is the message of hope and liberation which is at the very core of Christian faith. AMEN! Tomorrow America observes Memorial Day to honor the courageous men and women who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. We are so very thankful for their selfless hearts and the ultimate price they, and their families, paid. Memorial Day centers around the thoughts of ultimate sacrifice, remembrance and gratitude. As we remember these brave men and women who gave their lives for our earthly freedom we must always remember the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for our ETERNAL freedom. In the gospel of John, chapter 15, verse 13 John captures the words of Jesus: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” Today we will remember Christ’s ultimate love and sacrifice as we take communion (which we do every Lord’s Day) and focus on the eternal freedom He provides. We also pray for peace in the world and for God’s care for those who are currently fighting for our earthly freedom. AMEN! In the 4th chapter of his letter to the Colossians, verses 5 and 6, Paul writes about the “outer” life of those in Christ. Here he writes: “5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” The Christian life isn’t only lived in the prayer closet. There is practical, lived-out Christianity, which exists toward those who are outside – the non-believers. How we speak has a lot to do with this, so we must let our speech always be with grace. How non-believers see us every day is vitally important to the spreading of the Gospel. How we talk to people and how we treat others (graciously) is a reflection of God’s grace towards us. We should give flavor to our speech (seasoned with salt) but we must base all our answers to others on Biblical truth. We must emulate how Jesus talked and acted to each person while on earth – pleasantly, wisely, and appropriately. Each interaction could end with another soul added to God’s church. AMEN!
