In this verse-by-verse study of Acts 10:9–23, we examine Peter’s rooftop vision in Joppa and God’s preparation of his heart for the Gospel to go to the Gentiles. What begins as a vision about clean and unclean animals becomes a powerful revelation about God’s grace, human prejudice, and the global mission of Christ.
This passage shows us:
how God prepares His servants before ministry opportunities
why Peter struggled with the vision
the meaning of “What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy”
how the Gospel breaks cultural and spiritual barriers
the connection between prayer, obedience, and divine providence
Join us as we walk expositionally through Acts 10:9–23 and discover how Christ creates one people through the cleansing power of the Gospel.

In Acts 10:1–8, we are introduced to Cornelius—a Roman centurion who was devout, generous, prayerful, and respected. Yet despite all of his morality and religious devotion, he still needed the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

This passage marks a major turning point in the book of Acts as God begins opening the door of salvation to the Gentiles. Through a divine vision, the Lord sovereignly prepares both the preacher and the hearer, showing that salvation is entirely initiated by God’s grace.

In this expository sermon, we walk verse-by-verse through:
Who Cornelius was
What it meant to be a “God-fearer”
Why religious sincerity cannot save
God’s sovereignty in salvation
The role of prayer, obedience, and gospel proclamation
How Acts 10 changes the trajectory of the early church

This Memorial Day weekend message also reflects on sacrifice, nationhood, and the greater kingdom Christ is building from every tribe, tongue, and nation.

In Acts 9:31–43, Luke gives us a powerful picture of a healthy, Spirit-filled church and the continuing work of the risen Christ through His people.
This passage moves from the church walking in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, to the healing of Aeneas, the faithful life of Tabitha (Dorcas), and the miraculous display of Christ’s authority over death itself.

In this message we explore:
• What spiritual health looks like in the church
• The comfort and strengthening ministry of the Holy Spirit
• Christ’s healing power through Peter’s ministry
• The quiet but powerful testimony of Tabitha’s compassionate service
• The raising of Tabitha and the hope of resurrection
• Why Peter staying with Simon the Tanner prepares the way for the gospel to reach the Gentiles

Acts 9 reminds us that Jesus is still building His church, still restoring broken lives, and still using ordinary believers to make His grace visible to the world.

• The comfort and encouragement of the Holy Spirit
• Peter’s ministry in Lydda and Joppa
• The life and testimony of Tabitha (Dorcas)
