What happens when the very people who provide comfort to those in need face a crisis of their own?

When an electrical fire temporarily closed the doors at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the congregation needed to find a new place to worship.

And the quilting ministry’s beloved Monday morning gatherings were suddenly without a home.

But as the quilters were soon to learn, their grief would be short-lived. Because out of the smoke, emerged a beautiful validation of the power of community, resilience and a reaffirmation of what the group’s time was about in the first place.

Calling all volunteers to help with Spring Clean Up
around the church and adjacent neighborhood! Join the
crew for a morning of fellowship, exercise and clean up
as we sweep, rake and pick up around the church.
Weather permitting, we might even plant some flowers
to beautify the church too! Bags, gloves, tools and
refreshments will be provided.

NATIONAL QUILTING DAY - March 21, 10AM til Noon
Come celebrate with us at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown.
To celebrate together, we’ve planned a day of activities, demonstrations, exhibits and refreshments. Come and learn about local quilting and knitting/crochet groups and the charities we support. We are accepting donations of fabric, bed sheets, yarn and funds to support the various programs.
