🚨IMPORTANT FUNDRAISER STATEMENT from owner Sheldon Port🚨
This coming Wednesday, the Domino's in Huntingdon will be holding a fundraiser day in memory of Abbi Henney. Abbi passed away from a tragic motorcycle accident just 2 weeks ago. A percentage of ALL sales from Wednesday will be donated to the Abbi's family.
Those of you that are familiar with the Domino's in Huntingdon know that over the years we have done 100s of fundraisers and donated tens of thousands of dollars to people and organizations in need. Every single person or family we have helped has had a story behind them. Some people and groups I knew their story, and some I didn't.
I would be remised to not tell the story about Abbi Henney and her family.
26 years ago, I took my first delivery at Domino's Pizza. Who took me on that delivery and trained me? Abbi's dad, Greg Henney. Greg would go on to manage the Huntingdon Domino's and help put a foundation in place to make the store what it is today.
9 years after that first delivery I bought the Huntingdon store. Who was the assistant manager on duty the 1st day I stepped back into the store? Abbi's uncle, Phil Henney.
I would spend Saturdays at the Henney's house watching football. Abbi's Mom, Erika and I bantering back and forth about football while Abbi is going into 1st grade. She has been the sweetest girl her entire life. The attached picture is 7-year-old Abbi, with hammer in hand helping us knock down the walls of the old Domino's when we remodeled in 2012.
This entire family has been crucial to the success of the Huntingdon Domino's. Without them I dont know if the store makes it past 2007 and allows me to be in the position, I am today, doing fundraisers and helping others in need.
So, Im asking everyone to make this a great day in memory of Abbi and for her amazing family.
I hope it's the busiest day we have ever had. I'll never say this, but I hope you have to wait 2 hours for your food because our ovens are maxed from open to close.
We have team members coming from all over to help. Be sure to use the Domino's tracker to track your order. The online ordering system and the app are pretty good at quoting wait times so please plan accordingly. Our ovens can cook about 150 items per hour, and we hope and plan to double that in orders. We do expect that we could reach 1-2+ hour wait times from 4-8pm.
Let's make Wednesday a day we will never forget for a sweet soul we will never forget!
