Mr. Jimmie Hayes will be missed. Please lift up the Hayes family in your prayers.
James “Jimmie” Paul Hayes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and member of our community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on August 24, 1940, in Alexandria, Louisiana for 85 years, Jimmie lived a life filled with hard work, love, and dedication.
Funeral services for Jimmie will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at Poland Baptist Church with Brother Gary Richerson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ruby.
Pallbearers will be Richie Beauregard, Jim Herrin, Johnny Walker, Clay Cook, Cody Broussard, Collin Guillory, Buck Tuma, and Rob Brady.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Chellette, Buster Whittington, and Tim Gipe.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and continued Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Residing in Alexandria, Louisiana, Jimmie was a proud fixture in the farming industry, where he poured his heart into raising cattle and tending to hay. His commitment to the land and the lifestyle it provided was an integral part of who he was. Jimmie was not just an industrious farmer; he was a devoted member of Poland Baptist Church, where he found solace and strength in the community.
Those who knew Jimmie will remember him for his genuine kindness and unwavering spirit. He delighted in spending time with family and friends, creating lasting memories through simple gatherings filled with laughter and love.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Marvin and Nancy Abner Madden Hayes; sisters, Velma Doris Hayes Adams, and Nona Lee Hayes; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hayes, and nephews, Joe Adams, and Donnie Adams.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Esther Sue Chevalier Hayes; son, James Marvin Hayes; daughter, Jimmie Sue Hayes; grandchildren, Josie Tuma (Buck), Rebecca Brady (Rob), and Brody Hayes (Amber); great grandchildren, Reed and Andie Tuma, and Hunter and Chloe Brady, and numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Poland Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
