Our Uganda team will be home soon. We are currently about to take off from Amsterdam to go back to the USA.
We have had wonderful times worshiping with our brothers and sisters in Africa. We have celebrated the work God is doing through our partners in Uganda. We have had truly incredible and unique experiences. We have also seen people who endure suffering and hardship on a level that is hard to describe.
Pray for us that we will hear from the Holy Spirit as we launch the next phase of Calvary’s ministry in East Africa.

Apologies to people praying for the Uganda team who haven’t had an update. There have been connectivity issues for several days, but we’re back online now.

For really detailed updates on our trip and the work Calvary has been doing in Africa for quite a while now, check out the excellent updates on Jon Cowart’s FB page.

A short summary: We have been to graduations where 73 church leaders from three countries (Uganda, South Sudan, DR Congo) have completed a ten course curriculum. What a celebration! We’ve seen ministries at a couple of refugee camps and seen the Christian primary school started by Pastor Joseph and Jessica. We are still due to visit the ministry where Brian Arimpa of Refugee Charity Initiative is planting a church and building a school. Our hearts are overwhelmed by the great needs but full because of the great love agown by iur African brothers and sisters.

Exciting things are happening in Uganda. Brian Arimpa with Refugee Charity Initiative in Uganda sent these photos of a well they are digging at their ministry in Kiryandongo Refugee Camp. RCI is a Christian ministry that cares for children who have fled the many wars in South Sudan. In recent years, many Calvary people have donated to help provide education and transportation to the refugee children served by this ministry. Pray for RCI’s well project. They are 30 feet down right now, and expect to hit water at 60 feet. Pray that God will provide funding for a wellhead and pumping system so these children will have clean and accessible water.

We’ve had generous people and faithful servants donate bedding, clothing, and almost all household items. If anyone has an extra fridge or any home furnishings, let us know! She gets the key to her new home today!

Tens of thousands of people came to Light Up Okotoks last night to open up the Christmas season. And our team was there to help greet them. This is one of the best festivals in all of Canada, and we’re glad that Cornerstone Church was there to introduce themselves to so many people.
