Every Summer we have the opportunity to make Christ known through overseas short term mission trips. These camps come together through prayer, planning, and sacrificial giving of time and treasure. Those who give make it possible to deploy those who go and we thank you for partnering with us in giving, sending, and going!

Today is a new month full of fresh possibilities and new horizons ahead! We invite you to pray for our Summer mission season as it begins with mission teams ready to go and mission partners ready to receive! Please pray for the students that will be attending and their families as stories are brought back home. Pray for the mission teams that step out in faith to serve, that they would see God at work in every moment. We lift up our partners and hosts that they would be encouraged, uplifted, and unified as the global family of Christ.

In all things we give thanks to God that He sustains us, protects us, and provides for us in all circumstances! We can’t wait to share more in the coming days and weeks with our Summer mission season of 2026! 👣

Ministry is hard. Ministry is not something that you punch in and out of, and it’s not a job that can be left at the office. It follows you wherever you go and often times dictates the schedules you have, the relationships you invest in, and the life choices that you make for you and your family. Ministry can also bring many blessings of connection and stories and deeply formed friendships as we work together in the Kingdom.

The Gross’s were able to visit with some who have become fast friends in the Kingdom, brothers and sisters in Christ partnering together to make Christ known. Here are some pictures from their time in Minnesota, hearing about ministry and prayerfully encouraging one another. We are so grateful for all the connections that have been made and invested in, and the continued prayers and support for Ukraine! 🕊️

In Ukraine, ministry is shaped by the realities of war. Daily life is marked by uncertainty, disrupted routines, and the weight of ongoing conflict. Yet in the middle of it all, the Church continues to move toward the needs around it, bringing the hope of Christ into places where it is needed most. Across the country, SON Global Workers and local leaders are serving in ways that reflect both courage and deep commitment. In the Odesa region and surrounding areas, SON Global Worker Pastor Alexander Gross provides leadership across multiple congregations, including those near the front lines. His work centers on strengthening churches, encouraging pastors, and ensuring that even in the most difficult conditions, the Gospel remains present and active.

A celebratory milestone of graduation brought the Gross family together for some time in the States! David and Alexandr visited NALC Bishop Dan and staff in Texas. Pastor Alexandr and Alyonna were featured on a radio interview with ABQConnect, and spent time at Faith Lutheran Church Albuquerque this past weekend. After some time in Albuquerque, they are now in Minnesota for the next few days. They met with LCMC Service Coordinator Pastor Julie Smith yesterday and started the day off at Hosanna Church - Minnesota sharing updates and ministry opportunities that have come about from the war.

Continue to keep the Gross family in prayer and all those who are affected by war and conflict. We pray this is a time of being heard, supported, uplifted, and refreshed by the global family of Christ! 🇺🇦 🌻 👣

In deep gratitude, we remember those who have served to ensure our freedoms still stand today. Lifting up those who made the ultimate sacrifice, may God be with their loved ones and continue to walk alongside them. On May 23, Ukrainians around the world traditionally honour the Day of Heroes and remember all those who fought for Ukraine’s freedom and independence through generations.

🔹 From the Cossacks and servicemen of the Ukrainian People’s Republic to the fighters of the UPA, the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, and today’s defenders of Ukraine — their courage and sacrifice continue to shape Ukraine’s fight for its future.

🔹 The Day of Heroes was established by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) in 1941. For decades, this day has united generations of Ukrainians around memory, dignity, and love for their homeland. Today, no matter where we live, we share a common responsibility: to stand with Ukraine and support its defenders.

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes! 🇺🇦

Have you been getting a taste of Summer the past few days? We cannot believe it is already into the 3rd week of May, bringing us closer to the start of our Summer mission season! Teams have been training, supplies are being purchased and collected, packing lists are made, and lessons are getting planned for the best Summer mission season.

We love the time of anticipation before the Summer, knowing that lives will be changed and the gospel will be made known to spiritual orphans, and prayerfully anticipating what the Lord will do and the stories we will be a part of. This happens because of YOU! You partner with us in going to serve as short term mission teams made of all ages and from all over the country. You partner with us in sharing the good news that we are a global family in Christ with a Heavenly Father who loves us. You partner with us in sending mission teams and campers to attend.

Would you partner with us in sending a student to attend camp? There are many children who would not otherwise be able to participate if it weren’t for the generosity of those who send one.
