🚨 Calling All Kenya Child Sponsors! 🇰🇪❤

Faith Alive Ministries will be returning to Kenya this August, and we'd love to help you send a special gift to your sponsored child!

Sponsors are invited to put together a small gift that can fit inside a quart-size Ziploc bag. These gifts are a wonderful way to remind your child that they are loved, prayed for, and thought about by their sponsor family.

Gift ideas include:
🎁 Small toys
📸 Family pictures
💌 Handwritten notes or cards
💍 Simple jewelry
✏️ Stickers, pencils, or other small items

Please remember that all gifts must fit inside a quart-size Ziploc bag so our team can transport them in their luggage.

🍋 There's Still Time to Join FAM-o-nade! 🍋

Looking for a meaningful way to keep your kids engaged this summer? It's not too late to sign up for FAM-o-nade, Faith Alive Ministries' summer fundraiser!

Children throughout our community are invited to receive a lemonade stand kit, set up a lemonade stand at least once during July—our Summer Mission Month—and donate their proceeds to support the ministry of Faith Alive Ministries.

FAM-o-nade gives children the opportunity to learn about generosity, service, and making a difference in the lives of other children right here in our community and around the world.

Whether your child raises $10 or $1,000, every dollar helps us continue serving orphans, widows, foster families, and children in need.

A huge THANK YOU to for donating beautiful red brick chips to help enhance the landscaping at the Dream House! Your generosity is helping us create a welcoming space for the widows, children, and families we serve.

We also want to recognize Living Water Property Care (and volunteers!) for generously volunteering their time and talents to spruce up the outside of the Dream House. From the fresh landscaping to the extra care and attention given to our property, your service has made a tremendous impact.

Community partnerships like these remind us that ministry is never done alone. Thank you for helping us make the Dream House a place of hope, hospitality, and healing for our neighbors.

🫶🏻

Foster care is not a government problem.

It’s a Church problem.

It’s not just a system issue.

It’s a Gospel issue.

And if we claim to follow Jesus, we don’t get to sit this one out.

Before anyone says, “My church helps,” hear me clearly.

I’m not talking about your church.

I’m talking about the Church.

The Body of Christ.

The people who sing about leaving the ninety-nine.

The people who quote James 1:27.

The people who say they want to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

All of us.

Because these children do not belong to the state.

They belong to God.

And if they belong to God, then their suffering should matter to us.

The Church has always been called to stand in the gap.

To defend the fatherless.

To care for widows.

To welcome the vulnerable.

To run toward brokenness instead of away from it.

But somewhere along the way, we handed that responsibility to the government and convinced ourselves it wasn’t our problem anymore.

We built bigger buildings.

Created better programs.

Perfected Sunday mornings.

While children slept in DSS offices.

While foster families burned out.

While biological families fought impossible battles with little support.

And then we wondered why the system keeps failing.

Not everyone is called to foster.

I know that.

But every Christian is called to care.

Bring a meal.

Buy diapers.

Become a CASA.

Support a foster family.

Mentor a teenager.

Walk alongside a struggling parent.

Babysit.

Pray.

Show up.

Do something.

Because if the Church won’t show up for vulnerable children, who will?

If we won’t inconvenience ourselves, sacrifice, or step into hard places, then what exactly are we doing?

We cannot keep calling ourselves the hands and feet of Jesus while refusing to go where He would go.

And He would go straight to the child.

Straight to the hurting family.

Straight to the broken places.

So yes, this is a call out.

But more than that, it’s a call in.

A call back to the things that matter to God’s heart.

Because these children are worth it.

Because families are worth it.

Because Jesus is worth it.

Let the Church rise.

Let the Church stop pointing at the problem and start becoming part of the answer.

Let the Church show up.

As a small token of our appreciation, we invite you to join us for our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Friday, July 17 at 6:00 PM.

This special evening will be a time to celebrate all God has done through our volunteers, reflect on the impact of your service, and simply enjoy a relaxing evening together. Volunteers are welcome to bring a spouse or guest.
