Lift up your eyes and your cares to the Lord. I ask that all reading this continue prayers for the Waynesboro, Virginia community and school system in light of yesterday's shooting incident. May we pray for ALL involved. We don't know the details. We don't need to know the details but only to pray. May we, in unison, lift up our eyes to the mountains. Keep first responders and care providers in your thoughts and prayers as well. Lift your eyes to the hills and mountains and to God. Whatever His plan, He will never fail you. May the Lord watch over you tonight, tomorrow, and forevermore.

A great reminder as we approach Labor Day weekend. Earthly rewards will always fall short and let us down. Whether you love your job or don't especially like your job, apply yourself and do your best. Your rewards won't be found in a title, earthly paycheck, conference room, or trip you have won. Your rewards will come from working for the one and only Master. Do the little things that will make Him happy and your rewards will be many. People will always let you down, but Christ will always lift you up.

Amen. I believe there is nothing more powerful than the power of prayer. We may not see the way out of a situation, but we can talk to the one who will lead us out of the situation and go with us.

There is power in going to our knees before a God whose power has no limits.

When we pray, we bring what is beyond our control before the One who is always at work.

Sometimes the most Christlike thing you can do for someone who is hurting isn’t to explain their pain—it’s to sit beside them, listen, and stay.

You don’t have to know why they’re hurting to love them through it. 🤍🙏🏻

Amen.

Dolly Parton went to be with Jesus today. She was 80 years old. She was born in 1946 in the mountains of East Tennessee, one of 12 children in a poor but deeply loving family. She grew up singing in church and began writing songs as a child before moving to Nashville in 1964. Over the next six decades, she became one of the greatest songwriters and entertainers in American history, creating classics like “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You,” while also becoming an actress, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and the founder of Dollywood and the Imagination Library.

But underneath all the fame was a woman who repeatedly spoke about her faith in Jesus. Dolly said, “I grew up knowing that Jesus loves me. And I knew that through God all things were possible.” She credited her childhood church and family with shaping her faith, and she once said, “I always ask God to just let me lead people to Him.” She wanted whatever light people saw in her to ultimately point them towards Jesus.

Her faith also poured into her music. Dolly recorded gospel music throughout her career, including the powerful resurrection song “He's Alive,” and described her faith as “the thing that keeps me motivated, keeps me strong, keeps me from falling through the cracks.” After her husband Carl Dean died in 2025, Dolly said, “I am a person of faith, and I truly believe that I'm going to see him again someday.”

Dolly is leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of music, generosity, laughter, and Christian faith. May her life remind us that the greatest legacy we can leave isn't fame or success, but pointing other people toward Jesus Christ.

When you don’t know what’s next, remember: your waiting is not wasted, your prayers are not unheard, and your story is not finished.

God is still working, even in the places where you can’t see it yet. 🤍🙏🏻

It's the shortest verse in the bible, but it may be the one with the longest consequences? Why? Because it shows that Jesus, the Creator, the Almighty, the Son, Holy Spirt, and Father shows His humanity by showing compassion for us all. He went to the cross so that none of us should perish. His heart breaks when ours breaks. He knows exactly how we feel when we fail, life hurts, we have loss, suffering, pain, depression, loneliness, suffering, heartbreak, and every human emotion. His tears and blood were shed for us. He cares for you and me - equally, the same. Our lot in life can be very different and sometimes we all hurt and cry. But praise be to God that for those who believe "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Morning is coming for you and for me. Just like when the tomb was rolled away, morning one day will wipe away the tears. Jesus wept. But with Him we may weep for a while, but He will dry our tears for eternity. The longest time there is. The shortest verse. The longest time. Welcome Him into your heart today.

What lions are encircling your life today? Put them in God's hands. He will shut their mouths and show His glory and strength in your life. Remember, when you are the weakest, God is the strongest. Ask for His protection and guidance today and every day.
