This page is a common platform where all 4 Uni-Ys (Uni-Y NTU, Uni-Y NUS, Uni-Y SMU, and Uni-Y SUTD)

University-YMCA, affectionately known as Uni-Y, is the university service club of YMCA of Singapore. Uni-Y was first established in SMU in 2005, NUS in 2007, NTU in 2009 and SUTD in 2016. MISSION:
To develop and empower youth to be servant leaders who will impact our local and international communities

TARGET AUDIENCE:
All university students regardless of religion or race, who desire to serve th

e community, and Christians who want to put their faith into practice. Through the creation of opportunities for servant leadership in community service and international programmes, working hand-in hand with YMCA of Singapore, Uni-Y seeks to prepare each individual to embrace volunteerism as a way of life and to excel in all that we do. Our OBJECTIVES are:
a) Providing volunteering platforms to create tangible social impact in the local and international communities
b) Providing opportunities for holistic enrichment through self-discovery, skill enhancement, and leadership development for each Uni-Y member

BASIS OF EXISTENCE:
YMCA of Singapore is a volunteer-based Christian organisation that seeks to serve and impact all members of the community, regardless of race, language or religion, through programmes, services and enterprises to develop the body, mind and spirit. Uni-Y seeks to fulfill the mission of the YMCA of Singapore to nurture community champions by providing volunteering platforms for university students to receive holistic enrichment while creating positive social impact. Singapore Youth Award 2014:
For its exceptional humanitarian efforts and outstanding contribution in cultivating a spirit of volunteerism and leadership amongst the youth of Singapore, University-YMCA Singapore (Uni-Y) was conferred the Singapore Youth Award 2014, the nation’s highest accolade to honour exceptional young people who enrich the hearts and souls of the community and bring distinction to the nation. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Istana on 6th July 2014.

🏕 Uni-Y’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations | YMCA Inclusive Camp 🏕

In celebration of Uni-Y’s 20th anniversary, we aim to honor the unique strengths of our youth from diverse backgrounds. This includes participants from the Club Lite Programme (youth with special needs), the Vocational and Soft Skills Programme (out-of-school youth and youth-at-risk), and the University – YMCA (Uni-Y), both locally and overseas (youth leaders and volunteers). These vibrant communities will come together at the YMCA Inclusive Camp.

At the YMCA Inclusive Camp, we foster a nurturing environment where every camper is empowered to thrive. From sensory exploration to camping activities, each moment is filled with joy, growth, and connection.

A campfire provides a space for people to keep warm and safe; We can fight the cold, chase deadly animals away, feed one another, and just laugh and cry over one another’s stories together around a campfire.

Coming home, is to me, an act of refuge, to recharge, to rekindle, and to reconcile. Amidst the wilderness of life, we all need someplace to return to and reconnect.

The question though, is inadvertently about how we can keep the fire going, create healthy boundaries to control the flames, and even pass on whatever spark we have inside us to one another.

My name is Josiah Ng and when I’m not scribbling stories in my handy dandy notebook, I chase after my 2 kids as a Stay-at-home-dad. I feel privileged to chat with everyone and look forward to exploring together about this icky-sticky but lovable thing we call family.

Hello it's me and I'm only human

Some people say I'm an old soul in a Gen Z body. Sometimes I reckon with that, but sometimes, life's struggles and my shortcomings make me feel small and helpless.

I'm a deep thinker! More often than not, you can find me strolling in hyper NTUCs looking at everything under the sun, but chances are, my mind is preoccupied with thoughts about life -- the mundane, the great, and how God is in the picture.

Like a sheep, I've come to realise that I don't have to understand everything though! But to simply know that there's a greater good that extends beyond my mind's reach is kinda cool :-)
