St Josephโ€™s Church (โ€œSJCVSโ€) has received an offer from the Singapore Land Authority (โ€œSLAโ€) to issue a 60-year Lease, subject to conditions and SJCVS is working with SLA to accept the offer and comply with the conditions.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this effort through the generous contributions.

Kindly note that ๐™‰๐™Š further donations should be sent to the TES account (NHBโ€‘PMF St Josephโ€™s Church), as we are now proceeding to withdraw the amount raised for the land lease payment.

At the same time, the Church continues to require funding for essential rectification works following our restoration project. These include electrical upgrades, airโ€‘conditioning, resurfacing of the parking area, and cleaning of the faรงade. Contributions for these needs may be directed to the ๐’๐ญ ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐กโ€™๐ฌ ๐‚๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐…๐ฎ๐ง๐.

The Holy Mass is the most sacred act of worship on earth. It is the unbloody re-presentation of Christ's Sacrifice on Calvary and our highest encounter with God. Because of the sacredness of the Mass, Catholics should strive to participate with reverence, attention, and proper liturgical practice.

Here are five common mistakes often seen during Mass:

1. โœ๏ธ ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ง๐—ง๐—œ๐—ก๐—š ๐—•๐—˜๐—™๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—˜ ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—ฃ๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—ง ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ง๐—ฆ

After certain parts of the Mass, the congregation normally sits together. Sitting before the priest has taken his seat can disrupt the unity and order of the liturgical action.

2. โœ๏ธ ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—˜๐—”๐—ง๐—œ๐—ก๐—š ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—š๐—ก ๐—ข๐—™ ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—–๐—ฅ๐—ข๐—ฆ๐—ฆ ๐—”๐—™๐—ง๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—–๐—˜๐—œ๐—ฉ๐—œ๐—ก๐—š ๐—›๐—ข๐—Ÿ๐—ฌ ๐—–๐—ข๐— ๐— ๐—จ๐—ก๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก

When the minister says, "The Body of Christ," the proper response is "Amen." The Church does not prescribe making the Sign of the Cross at that moment.

When genuflecting before the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle, the traditional gesture is to bend the right knee to the ground as a sign of adoration and reverence toward Our Lord.

At the conclusion of Mass, the priest imparts a blessing upon the entire congregation. In ordinary circumstances, there is no need to approach again for an additional blessing.

The dismissal marks the end of the Mass, but remaining until the priest and ministers have reverently recessed is a commendable sign of respect for the Sacred Liturgy.
