Over the next four weeks, we'll be journeying through the story of Ruth — a powerful story of loss, loyalty, faithfulness and redemption. Reminding us that God is at work even when life doesn't go as planned.
This Sunday, we're kicking things off with Ruth Chaper 1.
We encourage you to read ahead, come expectant, and be open to what God might have for you this Sunday!

We're looking forward to going on this journey together, and we'd love for you to join us!

Homelessness is a growing reality here in North Canterbury, and it's not always as visible as we might think.

At The Salvation Army North Canterbury, we have a dedicated homelessness response team, working alongside the Waimakariri District Council, Police and other local organisations to support those facing homelessness and housing insecurity.

We believe everyone deserves dignity, compassion and a safe place to call home.

On Wednesday evening, our Corps Officer, Lieutenant Barry Kirby, helped lead discussions with local election candidates at Food Secure North Canterbury’s Vote for Kai event in Rangiora.

As part of Food Secure North Canterbury, we believe it’s important to work together to build a resilient community where everyone has access to food, especially in times of natural disasters, crisis or supply disruption.

Here is an article written about the event 👇

After a somewhat hiatus from social media, we are pleased to announce that as of today, 23rd June 2026, the Salvation Army Rangiora Corps is now known as The Salvation Army North Canterbury Corps. We believe that this name change is significant, as we continue to engage with people across North Canterbury, to more clearly align with the communities we engage with and the services we provide. We are excited to share over the coming weeks more about the services we provide and the people you might see when you visit us at 12 Ashley Street. We still have the same mission - to be a safe place to belong, grow and serve - and we are looking forward to continuing to partner with what God is already doing.
