Janet Robertson: passed away 22nd May 2026

From the Heart of the Aglow National Board NZ:

Ones heart is impacted in so many ways when we suddenly hear that a precious and powerful woman of God has gone to be with her Lord. Memories upon memories come flooding in. Gratefulness on so many levels arise and arise: Janet was small in statue but a giant in God's Kingdom. A person who impacted many women, over many decades especially within Aglow International NZ. What a legacy our Janet has left and to this day it continues to be built upon.

Janet rose through the ranks of the Aglow Ministry throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Janet also served as National President of New Zealand, Samoa, and Tonga for 14 Years, together with many years on the Aglow International Body of Directors.

Janet was 'key' in the growth of so many leaders, as one person shared: 'Janet mothered and encouraged me'. She was wonderful at remembering people's names, family situations and as part of Janet's legacy those precious words of love, caring and encouragement are continuing to be passed on through the generations.

As the years have gone by since Janet retired as National President, she continued to keep a connection with the Aglow National Board, we will miss those quiet loving words as many others will too. Memorial Service will be held:

Sunday: 7th June 11.15am – 12.15pm
Hutt City Church

Day 1 – The Promise of Power
* Theme: Acts 1:8 - "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you."
* Reflection: Acknowledge the need for God's power rather than our own strength to witness.
* Prayer: Ask for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our lives, our families, our churches, our communities, our nation.
* Our Decree: Lord, as Your people bend to Your will today, You are sending a fresh outpouring of Holy Spirit power from on high! Fanning hearts into fresh flame to burn for You wherever You lead us today! Boldly shining Your light, speaking Your words of life, hearts moved by Your compassion for the lost all around us! Supernaturally empowered by Your Spirit to do the same works You did Lord, & the greater works you promised in John 14:12. Hallelujah!
