Saudi Ministry of Interior: Ex*****on of Two Bangladeshi Nationals for Committing a Heinous Act of Sexual Depravity Inside a Mosque in Makkah

JEDDAH — 3 Jumada Al-Awwal 1448 AH | 14 October 2026 | Saudi Press Agency (SPA)

The Ministry of Interior issued a statement today regarding the enforcement of the death penalty as a discretionary punishment (Ta’zir) against two offenders in the Makkah Region. The statement reads as follows:

Allah Almighty says:

“And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation.”

— Surah Al-A‘raf (7:56)

And Allah Almighty says:

“And do not seek corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.”

— Surah Al-Qasas (28:77)

And Allah Almighty says:

“And Allah does not like corruption.”

— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:205)

And Allah Almighty says:

“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth to cause corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.”

— Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:33)

The two Bangladeshi nationals, Nazrul Islam Abdul Basir and a woman identified as Siti Akhtar, perpetrated a heinous act of sexual depravity within one of the mosques in the Holy City of Makkah.

By the grace of Allah, the security authorities successfully apprehended the aforementioned individuals. Following an investigation, both were formally charged with committing the crime.

Upon referring their case to the competent court, a judicial ruling was issued establishing their guilt of the charges brought against them and sentencing both offenders to death as a discretionary punishment (Ta’zir), in view of the extreme gravity and seriousness of their actions and their flagrant violation of the sanctity of both the sacred time and place.

The judgment became final after being upheld by the relevant judicial authority, and a Royal Order was subsequently issued authorizing the implementation of the punishment prescribed under Islamic Shariah against the convicted individuals.

The death sentences against Nazrul Islam Abdul Basir and Siti Akhtar, both Bangladeshi nationals, were carried out on Wednesday, 3 Jumada Al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to 14 October 2026, in the Makkah Region.

In announcing this, the Ministry of Interior reaffirms to all that the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains firmly committed to maintaining security, upholding justice, and enforcing the provisions of Islamic Shariah against anyone who desecrates the sanctity of mosques and violates the honour and dignity of others.

The Ministry further warns that any individual who dares to commit such offences will face the punishments prescribed by Islamic law.

And Allah is the Guide to the Straight Path.

🌱 ALMUFID MANGO TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE

Planting Today for a Greener and Better Tomorrow.
Almufid Islamic Foundation is pleased to share the successful implementation of its Mango Tree Planting Initiative in Katsina State, Nigeria.

This initiative reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability, community development, and the promotion of lasting public benefits.

By planting mango trees, we aim to contribute to a greener environment, provide shade in the years ahead, and create a source of benefit for present and future generations.

Beyond its environmental value, this initiative reflects an important Islamic principle: the spirit of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity). A tree that provides shade, bears fruit, or benefits living creatures can become a lasting source of reward, by the permission of Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"No Muslim plants a tree or sows a seed, and then a bird, a person, or an animal eats from it, except that it is regarded as charity for him."
— Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.

At Almufid Islamic Foundation, we believe that meaningful community development requires practical action, collective responsibility, and a commitment to leaving a positive legacy.

We also recognise that planting is only the beginning. Sustaining this initiative through proper watering, protection, and long-term care remains essential to ensuring that these trees grow and fulfil their intended purpose.

We appreciate everyone who contributed to making this initiative a reality. May Allah bless this effort, make it beneficial to the community, and accept it as an act of sincere charity.
