Varsity Fellowship of Malawi believes that university life is a season to discover God's purpose through the Gospel.

We nurture Christ-centered leaders through Conferences, Mentorship, discipleship, Scholarships, the Varsity Writers Society and Seminars. Varsity Fellowship of Malawi exists to provide students with in-depth discipleship through the systematic study of God's word. Through our Bible studies and conferences, students are introduced to the biblical and historical foundations of the Christian faith. O

ur goal is to meet every Christian's need by offering a high level of discipleship, equipping university students to grow in faith and love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Only the truths of scripture – understood with the mind and communicated through sound doctrine – can provide the sure foundation upon which we establish our beliefs, shape our behavior, and discern the validity of our emotions and experiences. The study of doctrine is both an intellectual and devotional pursuit – a passionate search for God that should lead to deeper personal transformation, obedience, and heartfelt worship. Varsity Fellowship of Malawi is led by leaders from two churches: Antioch Baptist Church in Yannakis, Limbe, and Unity Bible Church in Zomba. Dear students from The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) and Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS),

COMING SOON | A New Campus Ministry Initiative

We are excited to share something that has been on our hearts as a campus ministry and something we have been praying through for a while.

Very soon, we hope to begin making theologically rich, gospel-centered Christian books—especially those rooted in Reformed theology—available to students right here on campus and at subsidized, student-friendly prices.

We believe that good books matter. Sound theology shapes how we think about God, how we understand the gospel, and how we live out our faith in everyday life. Our desire is to place trustworthy, faithful Christian literature into the hands of students so that you may grow deeper in your love for Christ, His Word, and His church.

As we prepare to roll this out, we want this initiative to be shaped by your needs.

What books, authors, or Reformed theology resources would you love to have access to on campus?

We are genuinely excited about this and would be deeply pleased to see students benefiting from resources that nourish the mind, warm the heart, and strengthen Christian conviction.

We held our final meeting of the year with KUHeS students, and our hearts are full of gratitude. Thankful to God for the fellowship, learning, and growth we experienced together. As we close this year, we look forward to meeting again next year, Lord willing.

We also say goodbye to some dear brothers and sisters who have completed their studies and will not be returning. You will be deeply missed. May the Lord guide you into the next chapter of life.

Bringing Hope to Depressed Students — Varsity Fellowship of Malawi

Our universities are facing a growing crisis of depression, anxiety, and even su***de. Many students are quietly carrying heavy burdens—academic pressure, financial challenges, and personal struggles. As Varsity Fellowship of Malawi (VFM), we believe the campus is a mission field where hurting hearts need real hope.

Through our Hope Conferences, we create safe spaces for students to open up, receive encouragement, and hear God’s Word. We walk with those who feel overwhelmed and connect them to mentors and supportive Christian communities.

We believe the gospel is the ultimate solution because only Christ offers the peace and identity that every heart longs for:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

These truths remind students that their lives matter, God sees their pain, and there is hope beyond the darkness.

As Varsity Fellowship of Malawi, we remain committed to pointing students to Jesus—the only source of lasting comfort, joy, and hope.

We continue to hold our weekly discipleship and mentorship meetings on campus, and it has been encouraging to see how students are responding to God’s truth through Knowing the Living God by Paul Washer.

We are witnessing the Lord at work in their hearts, helping them to understand and see God as He has revealed Himself in Scripture.

We warmly invite you to join our meetings and be part of this journey of growing in the knowledge of God. Let’s connect and grow together in Him.

What a Weekend it was!

We are deeply grateful to God for the just-ended University Theology Bootcamp! It was a joy to see over 230 students gathered from different universities — hungry for the Word, eager to grow, and passionate about living out their faith.

To all the students who attended — thank you! Your presence, engagement, and desire to learn made this weekend truly memorable.

Our mission doesn’t end here.
We are committed to continuing the journey of discipleship with you through ongoing campus Bible studies, mentorship, and fellowship. Let’s keep growing together in Christ as we seek to know Him and make Him known.
