The Mighty Blantyre Corps, Salvation Army-Malawi His Word; Our Light. In April, 2023, Global Health Corps (GHC) in collaboration with D-prize organised a Sexual and Gender Based Violence hackathon in Malawi.

Voices Unsilenced is a dynamic and youth-led non-governmental organization with the overarching goal of empowering people by breaking their silence on crucial global challenges and pave the way for a future where every voice matters and is heard for socio-economic development. Voices Unsilenced is committed to making a positive impact in the society by complementing government efforts in achievin

g the Malawi 2063, the African Union Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The hackathon provided a platform for talented and passionate individuals from different organisations working on gender and sexual and reproductive health to pitch their ideas and compete for a US$20,000 prize to support their proposed intervention. Our team comprised of six members led by a GHC alumnus and proposed to implement Chetechete Sautsa Nyama project in Lilongwe. Our team came together and submitted a full proposal to D-prize and we won the US$20,000 prize to start implementing our pilot project. It is from this background that our winning team established Voices Unsilenced.
