Farewell Tribute to Mrs. Edith Beatrice Tete Tubman Gibson
Today, with heavy hearts yet steadfast faith in God, we, the members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, gather to pay our final respects to our beloved sister, Mrs. Edith Beatrice Tete Tubman Gibson.
Mrs. Gibson was a faithful member of our church family whose life reflected dedication, kindness, humility, and service. Through the years, she worshiped with us, shared in our joys and challenges, and contributed meaningfully to the spiritual growth and fellowship of our congregation. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring nature touched many lives and left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a devoted Christian, she exemplified the values of faith, love, and compassion. She lived a life that demonstrated trust in God and concern for others, always extending a helping hand and offering words of encouragement when they were needed most. Her presence among us will be greatly missed, but her legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well lived. We give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of her life, for her contributions to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and for the countless memories she leaves behind. We take comfort in the assurance of Christ’s resurrection and the promise of eternal life, knowing that those who die in the Lord rest in His everlasting peace.
To the Gibson family, we extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers. May God strengthen and comfort you during this difficult time. May the cherished memories of Mrs. Edith Beatrice Tete Tubman Gibson bring you peace, and may the love of family, friends, and the Church sustain you in the days ahead.
Farewell, dear sister in Christ. Your earthly journey has ended, but your testimony of faith remains. May your soul rest in peace, and may light perpetual shine upon you.
“Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
