The wait is over! Mother Rebecca Tankersley is here! Join us tomorrow morning to celebrate her first official Sunday at Episcopal Church of the Ascension with the best possible welcome: tacos. Rain couldn't stop them.
On Saturday, Ascension volunteers made their quarterly water delivery to Sandbranch, a community 20 miles southeast of Dallas where approximately 150 descendants of freedmen have lived without running water since the 1980s — no clean water for drinking, cooking, or bathing, and all residents below the federal poverty line.

Over 2½ years, our members have delivered nearly 2,500 cases. Last month's donations added to that. Thank you to everyone who gave, and to the team that drove through the rain to get it there.

Just 20 miles from downtown Dallas, there is a community called Sandbranch where roughly 150 people, descendants of former slaves, have lived without running water since the 1980s. No clean water to drink. To cook with. To bathe in.

For three years, our Ascension family has delivered nearly 2,200 cases of water to their doors. And we're not done.

Donations of bottled or gallon water are being collected in the Narthex. You can also give online — just designate your gift "Water Ministry" or "Sand Branch."

Tomorrow, Saturday, June 6th, we meet at 7:00 a.m. to make the drive together. Come with us.
