I will come to you and bless you (260529 Fri)

Exodus 20:24 ESV
Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me—your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you.

Lesson : God told Israel to build an altar to worship and praise Him everywhere on earth. This was not a heavy duty for them, but a way to receive blessings in His presence.

App : God is pleased when we worship Him in spirit and truth. He answers us with His blessing and gives us fresh spiritual strength. I will worship my Lord today with prayers of praise, thanks, and confession. Amen.

God thundered His reply (260528 Thu)

Exodus 19:19 ESV
As the blast of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God thundered his reply.

Lesson : When God came down on Mount Sinai, the whole mountain was covered with smoke and shook violently (Exodus 19:18). In His great glory, He answered like thunder. Just as loud thunder wakes me up, I should be fully alert to His Word.

App : Imagine the words of the Bible speaking to us as loudly as thunder. With holy fear, I must bow my knees, confess my sins, and change the direction of my life. I will spend time reading the Bible with deep humility and respect. Amen.

Some capable men (260527 Wed)

Exodus 18:21 ESV
But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten.

Lesson : Who is truly capable in God’s eyes? According to Jethro’s advice, it is those who are honest and fear the Lord. The world also deeply needs people like this.

App : First, they must learn God’s laws and teachings so they can help others (Exodus 18:20). With an honest heart that fears God, I will learn His Word and serve others in my daily life. Amen.

Is the Lord here with us or not? (260526 Tue)

Exodus 17:7 ESV
Moses named the place Massah (which means “test”) and Meribah (which means “arguing”) because the people of Israel argued with Moses and tested the Lord by saying, “Is the Lord here with us or not?”

Lesson : The Israelites tested and argued with God in the wilderness, asking, "Is the Lord here with us or not?" Instead of punishing their hard hearts, God gave them water from the rock. This points to Jesus Christ. He is our living water and the solid rock of our salvation. His name is Immanuel, which means "God is with us."

App : By His great grace, God sent the Holy Spirit to be my Helper. Today, I will humbly rely on the Spirit's guidance to handle my daily tasks and duties. Amen.

Israel ate manna for forty years (260525 Mon)

Exodus 16:35 ESV
So the people of Israel ate manna for forty years until they arrived at the land where they would settle. They ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

Lesson : God fed Israel for 40 years in the wilderness. Every morning, He sent manna from heaven. Even when there was nothing to eat, God faithfully provided for His people.

App : My Lord has always provided for me and my family. As long as I live, He will continue to do the same because He is faithful. With a humble heart, I will rely on His daily bread every single day. Amen.

The wonderful truths (260524 Sun)

Psalm 119:18 ESV
Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.

Praise : Praise the Lord! His words are truly wonderful. He gives me His Word and teaches me to understand it. Praise the Lord! I am full of joy when I seek His laws and obey them. Praise the Lord! Keeping His Word in my heart keeps me pure in this sinful world. Praise the Lord! He helps me find the true meaning of the Word and guides me with His wisdom. I will hold onto the Word of life every single day. Praise the Lord! Amen.

The Lord is my strength and my song (260523 Sat)

Exodus 15:2 ESV
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

Lesson : After crossing the Red Sea, Moses and the Israelites sang a song of rescue. They praised God for saving them and for His great nature. Just like the verse says, praising God gives us spiritual strength.

App : I will praise my Lord every day to be spiritually refreshed. With His new power, I will overcome the world. Even if I am sometimes tempted and fall, I will rise again with humble praise and an honest confession. Amen.

Through the middle of the sea (260522 Fri)

Exodus 14:29 ESV
But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, as the water stood up like a wall on both sides.

Lesson : The escape through the Red Sea is one of the most famous stories in the Bible. It is hard to explain it with science. But it really happened. It was written down and shared to show how God saved His people, Israel.

App : It is also hard for me to explain using logic how I turned away from my sins and believed in Jesus. But it happened. I can share how my Lord saved me from sin and death, and how I now enjoy eternal life with Him. Today, I will live as living proof of salvation in Christ. Amen.

I am celebrating (260521 Thu)

Exodus 13:8 ESV
On the seventh day you must explain to your children, ‘I am celebrating what the Lord did for me when I left Egypt.’

Lesson : God told Israel to celebrate the Passover every year. He also wanted them to tell their children why they were celebrating: because of God’s saving power.

App : Enjoying God’s salvation in our daily lives is the best way to teach the Gospel to the next generation. At home, I will often thank God for saving me and praise His loving sacrifice. Amen.

The last day of the 430th year (260520 Wed)

Exodus 12:41 ESV
In fact, it was on the last day of the 430th year that all the Lord’s forces left the land.

Lesson : Israel lived in Egypt for 430 years. During this long time, they probably asked God when He would save them. Finally, at His perfect time, God freed them from slavery, just as He promised their ancestors.

App : God's will always comes true at the right time, so I must wait with faith. He will do exactly what He promised, so I must wait with hope. Holding onto His promises, I will keep praying for my long-term prayer requests. Amen.

The blood on your doorposts (260519 Tue)

Exodus 12:13 ESV
But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.

Lesson : During Passover, the lamb’s blood on the door frame pointed to Jesus’ blood on the cross. He shed His precious blood to save us from sin and death.

App : I am not perfect, but Jesus’ blood makes me right with God. Every day, I will rely on His blood, put on the new clothes He gives me, and enjoy peaceful fellowship with my Lord. Amen.
