Trinity Kenya

Trinity Kenya We are committed to building a God-centered community for the culturally displaced. Nakuru is a perfect place for this kind of church.

Our vision is to build a church community for the culturally displaced - people whose primary cultural identity is something other than the culture in which they currently live. This includes internationals who have moved to Kenya from around the world as well as Kenyans who, perhaps because they were educated overseas or lived abroad for a while, have returned home and found that they have diffic

ulty relating to their native culture. Our goal is to gather those people into a community where they can find friends, find God and, ultimately, find the life God has wired them to live. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in East Africa, with a rapidly growing population of culturally-displaced people.

*ATTENTION PARENTS*

We are in a time where we can access nearly anything and everything, just by a few swipes and clicks on our electronic devices.

And our kids are accessing these things too: the good AND the bad. And it’s becoming a huge influence in their lives.

THIS SUNDAY, our TEENS (13-18 year olds) will have a seminar during Kids’ Church (10:30am-12:00pm), where they will be learning and discussing:

What are the safe apps
Using apps safely
Awareness of the online risks
How to protect themselves

We highly recommend your TEENS attend this seminar. It’s open to any teen in the community to attend - so have your teens bring their friends along too.

Keeping our kids safe is a priority!

Side note: Don’t worry; we haven’t forgotten about the preteens (10-12 year olds). They will have their seminar the following Sunday.

Today marks Day 7 of Holy Week: Holy Saturday.

On this day:

• The disciples are still in hiding
• Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, both having noble positions in the Jewish community, care for Jesus’s body and prepare it for burial.
• Joseph and Nicodemus believe that Jesus is the Messiah

If you would like to follow Jesus’ daily path during this week, here are some scriptures to read from the different Gospels for Holy Saturday:

Matthew 27:62-66
Mark 16:1
Luke 23:56
John 19:40

Prayer for today:

Lord, we can only imagine what today felt like for the disciples. Their teacher, their brother, their friend, their Lord - was gone. Even though Jesus spoke of this happening, they weren’t prepared for the chaos that their lives now were.

But, we as believers today, know how the story ended. We know what tomorrow brings. And yet, let us remember what our lives would be like without You so that we know in the deepest of our hearts that Your presence is comforting and powerful and life-giving.

May we always be full of hope and renew our faith so that we always desire a deeper understanding of Your eternal love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

• All the disciples go into hiding
• Jesus stands before Pilate and a crowd of people - falsely accused, rebuked, and abandoned - then sentenced to death
• Jesus is whipped/flogged and a crown of thorns is placed on His head
• Jesus carries a cross to Calvary, where His hands and feet are then nailed to that cross and He’s hung up to die
• Jesus’ first words on the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
• Jesus’ last words before he dies: “Father, into Your hands, I commit My spirit.”
• As Jesus died, the earth shook and darkness covered it; then the veil was torn

If you would like to follow Jesus’ daily path during this week, here are some scriptures to read from the different Gospels for Good Friday:

Matthew 27:1-62
Mark 15:1-47

Prayer for today:

Lord, help us to quiet our hearts as we meditate on the sacrifice that Jesus made. Teach us to deeply reflect on the suffering He went through for our redemption. May this time of prayer bring to us humility, understanding, and gratitude into our lives. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

The world will know we are His disciples by how we love one another. Help us to write this commandment in our hearts and give us the will and desire to serve others. Help us to always remember the sacrifice that Jesus made so that we could spend an eternity with You.

We pray this all in your name. Amen.
