Volunteer Needed: Help Lead Dementia-Friendly Activities at Causeway Community Café
Could you help create a warm, welcoming space for people living with dementia and their carers?
Causeway Community Café is looking for a friendly volunteer to help lead our dementia-friendly café experience on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 10.30 am to 12 noon, at St John’s Church Hall, WA4 6QE.
We would love someone who can gently guide simple, enjoyable activities such as board games, colouring sheets, puzzles, conversation, and other ideas that help people feel included and at ease. We have a supportive team of regular café volunteers who welcome visitors, chat with guests, and help create a relaxed atmosphere. Drinks and lunch are available to buy from the café if required.
The exact activities and timings can be adapted to suit the volunteer. There may also be the option to use an additional breakout room for specialist advice or support sessions, where appropriate.
As this role involves supporting members of the community, the volunteer will need to complete our safer recruitment process, including relevant training and a DBS check.
