The Fourteenth Station- Jesus Rises From The Dead

“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.”

Today we celebrate the resurrection from the dead of Jesus. The crown of thorns has become the crown of life, and the tears of mourning are transformed into one of joy. Jesus destroys the finality of death and draws us into his light of hope and life in fullness and abundance.

We are offered the seeds of resurrection which open our hearts and eyes to the needs of our neighbour; the call to be peacemakers, and people of goodwill and love striving to challenge and heal injustice and suffering, and to offer hope in despair. We hear the words of the Risen Lord, `Do not be afraid,’ and 'Peace be with you,' that give us the confidence to know that God’s power, strength and healing will accompany us and strengthen us always.

Risen Jesus, you make all things new,
Renew us with your risen life, to carry your loving presence into our broken world.
Amen.
