It was such a joy to celebrate Hannah’s baptism last Sunday! Here is some of her story:

‘Two years ago, I had reached a point in my life where I could no longer deny that everything was falling apart around me. My relationship of seven years was ending, I had a lot of trauma from before that that I was running away from, and I was parenting from a place of chronic stress and overwhelm. And God came to meet me in the mess of that situation.

I had an experience with the Holy Spirit where I felt His Spirit enter me like a rushing wind. He replaced my eyes and my ears - He gave me eyes to see and ears to hear, and He took away my heart of stone and filled me with His Spirit. And ever since that day, I was changed.

I haven't got time today to count all the blessings that He has poured out onto my life. But I want to thank Him for the peace that He has given me in really challenging circumstances. I have a sense of joy now that I didn't have before.

I'm really excited to publicly declare my commitment to God. I'm committed to glorifying His name in all that I do; in my thoughts, my words, and my actions.’

God calls us into adventurous faith! Our gift days are an opportunity to recognise that all we have comes from Him and to invest into mission together.

This Sunday is the second of our gift days. Wonderfully, last Sunday we gave enough to pay off the Ashley Road mortgage! This Sunday, we will be focusing on giving into our Vision Fund, specifically to support our Lusaka Church Plant.

We loved celebrating Lauren’s baptism on Sunday! Here’s some of her story:

‘I grew up in a Christian family, but I never really accepted it as truth for myself until last year. I experienced some hurt and brokenness, and I had based my view of the Bible on my own experiences and view of the world, so as soon as I could, I stopped going to church.

In the years that followed, I tried everything that the world had to offer me. Ultimately, I think I relied on myself or relationships for happiness, but it never satisfied.

Last year I got a one-way ticket to Australia, and it was here that I met Jesus, which wasn't part of the plan!

Eventually, on the 30th of May 2025, I decided to release control of my life and at least try to follow Jesus. I later found out that back home my mum had prayed with Nicky Cornford from Redeemer Church London that I would make a firm decision to follow Jesus before the end of May.

Since then, Jesus has been redirecting me, unravelling parts of myself that I have built up. It's definitely been challenging, but I now have peace, I feel grounded, He's healed relationships in my family, and I know that whatever happens in my life He is leading me as an anchor to my soul. He has given me the freedom, satisfaction, and fulfilment that I was always looking for.’
