Room to Grow at Christ Church Creekmoor

Room to Grow at Christ Church Creekmoor Room to Grow is a building project to enable us to extend the size of Christ Church, so we can reach

Christ Church is the local Christian Church set in the heart of the Community of Creekmoor made up of people who share a huge heart to serve God, the local Community and beyond. Our vision is to serve the Community, however Christ Church is restricted by the size of the Church. It needs to extend its building so that it can better serve Creekmoor. For a number of years the people of Christ Chu

rch have believed that God has given them the vision to extend the Church building to achieve this:-
Isaiah 54:2 Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes
“The day for building your walls will come, the day for extending your boundaries. Micah 7:11”
We would like to share with you more of this vision and how it could change the lives of those who live in Creekmoor.

Particularly at this time we need to celebrate Good News.

We can celebrate a milestone in the life of Christ Church.

Over 10 years ago we started actively planning to extend our church building.

Finally, Phase 1 equipment – remaining Sound and Visual equipment - was installed.

Christ Church never stands still so the building will continue to evolve as the way God wants us to use the building becomes clearer.

The remaining Phase 2 equipment – replacement chairs, additional lighting and further kitchen equipment for the Café will only be purchased once funds are available.

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to this project in any way. It has been a massive journey where we have had to rely on God every step of the way.

The journey continues. There will be final bills for the building to be paid in 2021 and the loan to finish paying for the building will be with us for a number of years. Once we are able to open up our building fully, fundraising and community building opportunities can be created.

God has brought us this far. We celebrate this milestone and look forward to walking alongside Him as God uses us and our new building for the extension of His Kingdom.

May God bless you all.

Our building project has finally finished and we have an amazing new building to show you!

Unfortunately, we moved back in just as Covid 19 happened and we went straight into lockdown.

We have managed to go back to socially distanced services and small prayer meetings, but we can't wait for the day when we can show everyone this new building and use it to it's full potential.

We are hoping to open a pop up cafe in October on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10am - 12pm, along with an opportunity to attend private prayer sessions.

Please continue to pray for us, and that we can find the rest of the money to pay for this amazing project, especially in these hard times. If you can help in any way we'd love to hear from you!

Our fundraising total at the end of May is £1,396,410, which includes a loan payable over 20 years.

Here are a few pictures of what it looks like now.

What an exciting weekend we’ve had! Saturday afternoon we moved our ‘long term storage’ back to the church and this morning we held our last services in the community centre hall. Afterwards people took their chairs over the road and back into our new incredible church building! From now on our church services (Breakfast@9 and [email protected]) will be in the church although our activities will remain in the social club for the next few weeks whilst last minute jobs are being carried out during the week! We had a few tears as people marvelled at our new building and are so glad to be finally worshipping back in there again. However.. we are so very grateful to the Creekmoor Community Association for kindly allowing us to use the hall every Sunday for the last 11 months and to store all our equipment and equally grateful to the Creekmoor Social Club for being able to continue most of our activities during this time! Come and join us for worship next Sunday! It will still be makeshift whilst the final instalments are being made but we can still worship God in Christ Church style!!! God is sooo good! 🎉😀🎈❤️

On 23rd April 2019, Janice and Margaret handed over the keys of our church to Steve, the site manager of Hammonds. On Friday 28th February 2020, Steve handed the keys back! The building is very nearly complete, although there is still a lot of work to be done inside in setting it up! What an amazing journey it has been. We now have an incredible church building which will incorporate the new community hub for Creekmoor. Watch this space for our grand opening which will be on Easter Eve (Saturday). Save the date in your diaries or on your reminders on your phones cos you’re gonna want to see inside! It’s incredible! Thank you to everyone at Hammonds, to our awesome Margaret and Richard Bossom for managing and coordinating the build and the fundraising and to our amazing Vicar and Curate Janice and Jean Audibert, all seen here in the photo! God is soo good! 😀

Week 45 of the ‘Big Build’ and I don’t believe it! Steve’s off visiting another site! He’ll do anything to get out of seeing me! Still I had great fun this morning admiring the church with the team who has been there since the beginning and marvelling at how much it has changed and improved. It looks so crisp with the white walls and lighter wood everywhere. The cross is out on show again and our good old statue is back in its new place! The kitchen is nearly finished being installed and looks very impressive I must say!! The toilets are looking swish and the upstairs room is awesome with the new colours added to the cross!!! This building just blows me away! The etchings on the glass look incredible and the new loop system for the hard of hearing is being laid all over the building. The building work is coming to an end and I feel really sad that these lovely men will be leaving us but also so excited for getting back in! There is still a long way to go. Although we will be back in the building, it will take time to adapt and learn all the new equipment and set up the cafe. But it’s an exciting task ahead. Tomorrow Steve will be handing the keys back to the church! Can you believe that!! It’s just amazing! Thank you so much to Steve and his team who are so fab and thank you God for this incredible building. Please pray for more funding to come in so we can equip the building fully and for smooth transition back into church over the next month. This is Miche reporting on the’Big Build’, until next week! Over and out!

The cross is finally complete and stands above it all! So exciting to see!! Loving the new build!
