We loved partnering with the amazing Andrew from Beach labyrinth to dig and create this beautiful labyrinth yesterday!

We gathered to pray for our community, to pray protection and joy over the Tunes in the Dunes music festival and welcomed people to have a go at walking the labyrinth prayer space as they passed.

What’s a labyrinth all about I hear you ask… people have been walking labyrinths for centuries, ancient monks would walk them as part of their spiritual journey, slowly making their way to the centre trying to let go of all the things that were distracting them from following God, having identified these things they would pause at the centre and pray, asking God’s help. As the journey back outward takes place they would focus on how they could make that change possible in their lives.

Yesterday as modern day monks (aka Jesus followers) we had a go at this ancient spiritual practice, taking rubbish from the beach with us into the centre, thinking of the things we need to clear out of our lives, leaving it at the foot of the cross in the middle and asking God to help us draw closer to him in pursuit of prayer, mission and justice. We took a stone from the centre back out with us to remind us that we have our feet set on a rock, and we decorated the stones to remind us that we have his light, joy and presence with us as we go out into our everyday!

We’ve gathered in homes over the past few weeks, learning together, praying, worshipping and getting creative 🔥

Last week we learnt about love languages and how to love others well, like God loves us, by really knowing one another, not making assumptions, taking time to relate and understand so we can give and receive love well 💞

Yesterday we lit the fire pit in the hot sunshine and celebrated Pentecost together, remembering the amazing gift that Jesus left for his friends and for us all today… his powerful presence, the Holy Spirit, with them everyday and always, helping them to be sent ones into the world…

We prayed, played, sang and got creative in our worship together as we asked God to fill us, be with us, to empower us and work through us, in our everyday and in our community.

Come Lord Jesus! 🔥🙌🏻🙏🏻

Last week we had another lot of awesome fun at Roots kids 🌱 we also welcomed some new friends ☺️.

We listened to the story 📖 The Storm ⛈️ that stopped and got creative with some boat activities.

Jesus as well as telling stories, used everyday life to teach his disciples all about God. We learnt that Jesus ✝️ is with us when things are hard - when we are worried about school, friendships are tricky or doing hard things that make us anxious.

We made our very own boat and put on a show 🎬 and made some origami boats ⛵ to throw in the boat with Jesus to remind us that He is with us whatever happens. Joshua 1v9.

Jesus stopped the storm 🌈 showing his disciples that he cares for them ❤️ and that he is God.

What an absolute privilege and joy to host our first Prayer Space in Schools at Perranporth Primary School last week.

Our amazing team, together with friends from Perranporth Methodist Church, loved getting creative as we put together a beautiful, calm space for the children to learn about Christian prayer, experience hope, peace and presence as they moved through the different spaces in the outdoor classroom 🙌🏻

We reflected on our relationships with ourselves, others and the world and our relationship with God… we loved the big questions kids have to ask God!

We then enjoyed gathering at the school together as a church community on the following Sunday to experience the prayer spaces for ourselves, to pray for the school, share the stories and to pray together as families in the space. We enjoyed sharing good food together around the table as we continued to pray, play, share, gather and learn.

Some of the guys from our community had a fab weekend away together last week, despite a few hurdles and unexpected health issues they still managed to find time to catch up in various ways over the weekend, to slow down, rest, explore and play as they built relationship and did some learning and exploration about faith and following Jesus together.

Where are you on your journey of exploring faith and who Jesus is?

What an amazing day celebrating with friends and family today! Jesus is Risen, He is risen indeed! 🙌🏻

The wind was howling but we stayed dry and enjoyed the sunrise breaking through the storm as we gathered with other Perranporth churches to welcome Easter morning 🌅

We then took a pilgrimage to the St Pirans Lost Church, the ruins of one of the oldest churches in England where we loved hanging out together in the sunshine for worship, prayer, fun, games, celebration & food together 🙌🏻

Good Friday… remembering Jesus’ sacrifice today as churches in Perranporth gathered together to build beach crosses and share communion together ✝️

The blood, the pain, the mess, the injustice, the emptiness, the brokenness, the loss, the feeling that it can’t ever possibly change or get better… Jesus’ friends didn’t know why it happened or how life could possibly continue… they didn’t know the story of the next few days…

However broken, lost, hurt you feel… the story of Easter shows us it’s ok to sit with the emotions, in the pain, in the waiting and also it reassures us that there is always hope… Sunday is coming… change can and will come.

Bit of a late post but it was awesome mucking in as usual to help at the recent BIG Million Mile beach clean! We love helping clean up the beach, caring for a beautiful creation and providing hospitality with hot drinks and cakes for all the volunteers… thanks to everyone who came along to help and get stuck in! 👏🏻

Massive thanks to Lizzi Larbalestier - Going Coastal Blue Surfers Against Sewage and for the ongoing collaboration and joint efforts with the BIG Million Mile beach cleans!
