Blessed To Encourage

Blessed To Encourage A member of the Harvest Alliance network, Blessed to Encourage is the ministry of Mike and Liz Floutier, prophetically equipping churches and leaders.

We were both members of St Andrews Church, Chorleywood when God, sickness and a spaniel called Winnie conspired to bring us together. We have happily been so ever since, after being married by Bishop David Pytches in February 1997, three months after Mike proposed and only a few more than that since we met. Mike had read a book by Derek Prince called 'God is a Matchmaker' and we are proof positiv

e this is so! Since then we have been continually involved in ministry, from St Andrews to a sister church in Amersham and then moving to Hemel Hempstead Community Church, part of the Harvest Alliance network, in 2003, where we served on the leadership team. The mandate for Blessed to Encourage came in a Holy Spirit whisper as I (Liz) waited to hook up with others in the departure lounge at Heathrow to join them for a conference in Germany. He said, 'No matter what this weekend, remember, JUST BE A BLESSING, and everything else will follow'. It's been my mantra for every trip since, although I'm sure that sometimes I'm very wide of the mark, He always brings me back to it and it never fails. I am both humbled and very grateful. That trip opened the door to travel throughout Europe equipping leaders and teams and releasing prophetic encouragement to churches and communities.

'Thanks Liz for coming to Belgium and bringing exactly the word that our church needed at that moment, and thank you for taking the time to prophesy over everybody who wanted. Your prophesies were very accurate and encouraging. It was a delight being able to spend some time with you alone too. I often think back about things you said about our church and about leadership. It really helped us being better leaders, grow closer to what God meant us to be.'
Ilse and Danny Deseager, Gloriepoort, Mortsel, Belgium

'When Liz came to our church, it was so refreshing for us to hear her preach and to see how she prophesied over people. Through the way she preaches and ministers to people, she creates such a safe atmosphere, where people can easily receive from God. A year later, Liz came with us on a mission trip to Kosovo. Among many other things, we had a prophetic conference in a church in Gjakova, that our church supports. For many people, receiving personal prophesy was something very new. Liz prophesied over all people. It took two nights to do that. Many people were so encouraged, received new vision for there own life, but also did the church as a whole receive new vision of what the Lord had in store for them. Liz did not know any of the people, but because we did, we saw how accurate Liz prophesied over several people, which really opened their heart for the Lord.'
Roland and Nancy Theune, One Heart, Middelburg, Holland

'For several years you have visited our church, you always have been a real blessing for us. Your prophetic words have helped us a lot. We also admire your gift to teach and preach God's word'
Gunter and Cobi Zielinski, Christengemeinde Schalom, Peine, Germany

After many years visiting on holiday and dreaming, we moved to Cornwall in March 2016 after God made our path here so straight that we would have been disobedient not to follow it, and we are discovering that there are many more reasons to be excited about being here other than simply the beauty of the place. God is on the move! Walls of division are crumbling and people are gathering together to worship Jesus on cliff tops and in the streets, on beaches, in each other's churches, in living rooms and even roller rinks.....for such a time as this, we are here. We are so thankful for all the wonderful, Spirit filled, on fire people we have met and for those we are yet to meet. And always, first and foremost, we are worshippers and everything we do is born out of spending time at His feet, simply loving Him. No place, we would rather be.......

Took up my ‘pen’ post meeting recently, arrested by just a short sentence spoken by Jesus…..

Mark 14:8
She did what she could.

Taking scripture out of context can be misleading, manipulative or even plain dangerous when used to support a particular point of view or argument, but there are times when God will whisper His rhema word through a verse or simple sentence and it arrests us so completely, that we need to stop and feel His breath, that life giving ruach, speaking those very words directly to us.

I have sat in the story of Mary breaking the alabaster box many times, have pondered her outpouring of love and life for her master, and been deeply affected at her audacity at doing so in such a public setting, before men who would have reviled her. I have been richly fed by it over years and of myself, did not expect I could delve any further into depths of that account, but God……..

Hearing the verses read aloud in a meeting I felt that breath as an exhale, when I heard Him say in Mary’s defence, ‘she did what she could’ and in that simple phrase was all His approval and all His love for her. This woman, who having become aware of her brokenness had recognised the man, Jesus, as her saviour. ‘What she could’ was enough for Him, he asked no more. An action so deeply offensive to the pride of those gathered, deeply touched the heart of Jesus who saw in it only beauty and devotion. His response must have offended them still further.
“Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” v9

And I heard His still small voice……

‘You did what you could……and I have seen, it is known, you are known and loved by all of me. Your willingness to be broken releases the sweetest fragrance, and I delight in you, my precious and beloved child. You MUST NOT doubt. The men gathered in that place are still in the room, whether physically in a moment, or as a force invading your mind. DO NOT LISTEN to them. Instead feel My breath as a gentle breeze, I pass before you as you rest in Me and whisper, ‘you did what you could, and it is enough’.’

If you feel that when broken, your alabaster box will release nothing that is good, if your first thought is Pandora, and all that vileness let go, then know that the first breaking is the first step to freedom. As you release everything to Him, He will refill your vessel with the purest and most fragrant perfume, that later, when broken by you as an offering, will be received with His pure love and vindication.

So looking forward to this!
