Loving Jesus, Sharing Jesus

Jesus loves us so much that he died for us and rose again, giving us the gift of eternity with him. We respond with loving him and worshiping him. The Bible is the word of God and it moulds, shapes and teaches us to share the love of Jesus with others.

Join us over the next couple of months as we unpack this topic together! We would love for you to join us 🫶

💐 What is Easter Sunday?

"The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." - Matthew 28:5-6

On the third day after being crucified, the tomb where Jesus was laid was found to be empty. Jesus had risen from the dead!

Jesus Christ defeated death and the grave, demonstrating His power to conquer sin and offer eternal life to all who believe in Him. Through the Resurrection, we find assurance of our redemption and the promise of new life in Christ

We would love for you to join us today at CLM Church Ormskirk as we remember and rejoice that Jesus is alive!

🥚 What is Easter Saturday?

After His crucifixion, Jesus was laid in a nearby tomb, and His body remained there for the entirety of Holy Saturday (Mark 15:46). This day would have been filled with grief, confusion, and silence for His followers. It is a moment of waiting - the quiet before what is about to happen on Easter Sunday!

Join us today at CLM Church at 11am. It will be a great time of fun and fellowship, with a special Easter egg hunt for children and young people. Bring your family, friends and picnic! Please note this is no longer at Coronation Park due to the weather!

We will also be gathering on Easter Sunday at 10:45am. More details can be found at clmchurch.org.uk/easter

For Good Friday we gathered at CLM Church for an immersive experience, where a disciple took us into the garden where Jesus was praying. We witnessed a guard take Jesus to be tried, where he was then mocked, and crucified. The whole room was utterly silent as the stone was rolled in front of the tomb, filling the whole place with darkness.

We reflected on what we had seen using plants, nails and stones to guide our prayers.

Later, we walked towards the clock tower in Ormskirk with other churches to worship and think about and our response to Jesus.

It’s Good Friday…but Sunday is coming!

✝ What is Good Friday?

Good Friday is remembered as the day that Jesus was arrested, beaten and crucified - being nailed to and hung on the cross.

On this day, we remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. As He spoke his final words on the cross, "It is finished" (John 19:30), the work of salvation was complete

Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. He gave up his life so that we could have eternal life. Our debt of sin is paid in full through the precious blood of Jesus.

We would love to welcome you today at CLM Church Ormskirk at 10am for an interactive and reflective service, as we remember and give thanks.

Following this, we will meet other churches in Ormskirk at Ormskirk Clocktower at 12pm, for an Ormskirk Churches Together Service.

🍽 What is Maundy Thursday?

Today is Maundy Thursday, the day when we remember the Last Supper, where Jesus celebrated the Passover meal with his disciples before being betrayed and arrested

Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples which signified his body and blood. He urged his disciples to do the same after his death in memory of him - this is what we know as Communion.

Maundy Thursday takes its name from the Latin word 'mandatum' meaning commandment. During the supper, Jesus said to his disciples, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34)

Jesus also washed the disciples' feet (John 13:1-17), showing his humility and servant-hearted love. The act of washing the feet is a picture of Jesus' mission - to save humanity through His death on the cross, a death that washes us clean from all sin.
