This might be the most fun thing growing in my whole garden. Lovage has tall, completely hollow stalks, which means once you've made a drink with it, you can sip that drink straight up through the stem like nature's own straw. And there are plenty of drinks to try it with. A homemade lovage soda fizzed up with a sweet herb syrup. A grown-up lovage cordial that stews away for a month into something special. Even candied lovage stalks for garnishing desserts. It's a celery-scented herb that somehow keeps ending up in the glass, and it always gets a reaction at the table. Next Wednesday (24th June) we are having a prayer evening at Wymeswold Methodist Church in support of pride! Drop in from 7.30pm - there will be the opportunity to make rainbows and learn what the colours on the Pride flag represent, we will be creating a display of hearts to reflect the idea that 'love is love', and there will be some written texts that you can read and reflect on if you would like to. Then at 9pm we will come together for collective prayer and a song, both led by Eleri Bristow.

You are very welcome to come whether you come to church or not, and whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community or not 🌈❤️

Pray with us this Father's Day, with a prayer shared by Matthew Forsyth, Vice-President of the Methodist Conference 🙏

Loving God,
On this Father’s Day, we give thanks for all who have shown us care, guidance, encouragement and love.
We thank you for fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, and for all who have offered fatherly care in different ways.
We pray for those for whom today is joyful, and for those for whom today is painful, complicated, or marked by absence and loss.
Surround each of us with your love this day.
