Resurrection Greetings,
I bring you good tidings from AMC - Christ The Redeemer Anglican Church, Leigh as we commemorate the resurrection and victory over death of our Lord Jesus Christ, whom we know as THE RISEN MESSIAH.
Today, we reflect on Luke 24:5b-6a, "Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen."
We're reminded that Jesus is no longer in the tomb; therefore, I urge us all to live with the consciousness of this divine reality. Our hearts, thoughts, and actions should reflect the fact that our Messiah triumphed over mockery, disgrace, human limitations, pain, and death.
It is a fact that He rose, but certain chief priests and elders connived with the soldiers in Matthew 28:11-15 to spread a false account of this event.
However, I charge you to be strong and wise like Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women in Luke 24:10 who boldly and accurately bore witness and proclaimed this glorious victory of our Lord Jesus Christ, for through their ministry, we now share in the joy of what has been fulfilled.
Finally, I commend you in the name of God that you must not be swayed by the antics and pressures of the world. Be courageous and remain strong, knowing that this same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead shall quicken your mortal body to do His will and fully advance His kingdom here on earth.
May the grace, peace, and joy of the Lord continue to fill your heart, guide you towards the right path, and cause His light to shine ever brighter in your life through the power of the resurrected Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
Yours in Christ,
Rev'd Olisa Okeke
Vicar, AMC Christ The Redeemer Anglican Church, Leigh
