Not many on here know this but I (Aimee) was a victim who was injured at the arena attack and this event still affects me to this day and I wrote a poem this year that I wish to share we will never forget the 22 🩷🐝
9 years ago today Manchester came under attack , I was a lucky one who got out but for 22 they weren’t lucky and for their families life has never been the same this day has never gotten easier
Ahead of today I wrote a poem
22 angels never went home
22nd may two thousand and seventeen,
9 years on and those memories never leave,
A night which was meant to be fun and laughter,
Turned into a night of mass terrorist disaster,
22 angels never went home.
Loving the buzz in the queues at what was then the MEN,
Families not knowing they wouldn’t see loved ones again,
Terrorism an act of power and might
Yet the power of love was shown through that night
22 angels never went home
Ariana played dangerous woman, the name of the tour,
We all began shouting for an encore,
BANG!
The arena shook and all went silent
Atmosphere changed as the revelation unfolded
22 angels never went home
Screams and cries of injured victims ,
Panicking, anxiety fears and worry,
Wanting to leave the arena in a hurry
Adrenaline going , as we start moving ,
Staff are trying their best at soothing,
22 angels never went home
Out of the lift and all I want to do is sprint,
For their on the wall is a bloody hand print ,
My brain is telling my body to flee
When we hear the voice of some one saying “ help me”,
I was pushed away
As emergency services were ready to make their way,
22 angels never went home
To the angel I never could help, I’ll never forget you, the rest of my life,
I wish I could of helped you myself in my mind,
But god needed you and decided it was your time,
He dressed you in white and gave you the the wings to fly,
22 angels never went home.
9 years today 22.5.17
Survivors guilt is always living in me
A warzone I saw on that awful night
But love conquers all over terror and fright
Stand tall our kid and just know this
We are stronger than terrorism and we armed with love and we will not miss
22 angels never went home
22 angels never went home
To loved ones and friends
They met their premature ends
But to all know this God is great and well timed
Everything happens for a reason and even from the divine
He picked 22 beautiful angels to go home with him for eternal life
22 angels did infact go home to be with the lord in their etetnal home
If we look here today we might be lucky to see the 22 angels smiling with me.
Though we celebrate the anniversary of 9 years today
I remember today I survived , I am strong and I will always know
22 angels are with me wherever I go
To the 22 please always know this
I enjoy my life activities 22 times over for each one of you and always remember that I do this for you.
To John, Alison, Courtney, Lisa, Philip, Nell, Kelly, Michelle, Georgina, Angelika, Olivia, Marcin, Liam, Sorrell, Chloe, Eilidh, Wendy, Elaine, Martyn, Megan, Jane and little Saffie-Rose
22 beautiful angels gone home to God
9 years on and always remembered
Manchester’s 22 never forgotten
