This week the year 6 children in our schools are sitting their SATS. Below are some prayers that may be helpful

1. A Simple Prayer for Children (Before Tests)

"Dear Lord,Thank you for the minds you have given us.Thank you for our teachers and families who help us learn.As I take this test, help me to remain calm, focused, and confident.Help me to remember what I have studied,And to know that I am valued for who I am, not just what I achieve. Amen."

2. A Short "Pause" Prayer"

Lord, please give me your peace which passes all understanding, and help me to do my best. Amen."

3. A Prayer Focus (For Teachers and Parents)

"Dear Lord,As our children face a week of pressure, we pray that they feel safe and loved.Remind them that these tests do not measure their kindness, creativity, or special gifts.May they 'flourish like flowers in a field', knowing they are precious in your sight.Amen."

Today we celebrate a truly special milestone — 60 years since St Luke’s church was built.

For six decades, these walls have held prayers, laughter, tears, and countless moments that have shaped our community. Generations have walked through these doors — baptised here, married here, remembered here — all becoming part of the story of St Luke’s.

This anniversary isn’t just about a building… it’s about people.
The volunteers, the clergy, the families, the friends — past and present — who have given their time, their faith, and their hearts to make St Luke’s what it is today.

To everyone who has ever been part of this church community:
thank you. Your kindness, dedication, and spirit have kept St Luke’s alive and thriving through the years.

Here’s to the memories we’ve shared…
