We are last generation to fear our parents.
And the first generation to fear our kids.

Everything happens as it should. Every moment, decision, choice, encounter, person, mistake, lesson, step forwards, step backwards, heartbreak, love, failure, breakthrough, dream...are the little dots that create the sum of your entire life. Each experience leads to the next and although in the present moment it may seem that everything is scattered and all over the place, one day soon you will be able to connect the dots between each part of your life. When you do, you will have the realization that a life void of even just one of those dots, would not have made you the person that you are. Trust that in this life, everything happens as it should, in a way that is right for you. Maintain that faith, and you will experience the liberation that you are seeking.

It’s easy to be polite with strangers and sharp with the people we love. But the Prophet ﷺ taught the opposite — true character shows at home, with those who see us unfiltered.

Gentleness with loved ones is not weakness; it’s prophetic strength.

🌿 A Soft Reminder: Kind Words & Good Assumptions in Islam

💛 1. Kind speech is an act of worship

Allah elevates good words to the level of charity. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“A good word is charity.”

It costs nothing, yet it can heal, uplift, and bring tranquillity into a relationship. Especially with those closest to us — family, friends, loved ones — kind words are a form of rahmah we’re commanded to embody.

🌙 2. Thinking well of others is a sign of a clean heart

Islam teaches us to assume the best unless proven otherwise. Allah says:

“Avoid much suspicion; indeed, some suspicion is sin.”
(Qur’an 49:12)

Good assumptions protect relationships. Bad assumptions poison them. When we choose husn al‑dhann (good opinion), we choose peace over paranoia, clarity over whispers, and unity over division.

Wedding Planning & Islam: A Reminder

In the middle of all the excitement of planning a wedding, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters.

An Islamic marriage is actually simple:
Nikah. Consent. Wali. Witnesses. Mahr.
That’s it. Everything else is extra.

Culture isn’t the problem it’s when culture starts overriding Islam.

✅ Keep what is halal from your culture
❌ Leave anything that goes against the deen

There’s nothing wrong with traditions, celebrations, الجميل moments with family, as long as they stay within boundaries.

But when weddings become about:
• Showing off
• Competing with others
• Financial pressure
• Delaying الزواج for unrealistic standards

…then something has gone wrong.

The Prophet Muhammad reminded us that the most blessed marriages are the simplest.

Let’s bring weddings back to:
• Barakah over appearance
• Ease over stress
• Purpose over performance

May Allah bless every marriage with sincerity, love, and tranquility 🤍

Gratitude (shukr) in Islam is more than just saying “thank you” it’s a way of life. It’s recognizing every blessing, big or small, as a gift from Allah, and showing appreciation through the heart, words, and actions.

The Qur’an reminds us that if we are grateful, Allah increases us. Even in difficult moments, gratitude brings peace, shifts perspective, and strengthens faith.

A grateful heart sees abundance where others see lack. 🌙

Lies in Islam: A Serious Matter

In Islam, honesty is not just a virtue it is a foundation of faith. Deliberately lying, manipulating others, or deceiving people for personal gain goes against the moral teachings of the religion. Truthfulness builds trust, strengthens relationships, and reflects a sincere character.

When someone lies or manipulates, it harms others and damages their own integrity. Islam teaches believers to be truthful even when it is difficult, because honesty brings blessings and peace of mind.

Being honest is not always the easiest path, but it is always the right one. Let us strive to speak the truth, act with sincerity, and treat others with fairness and respect.

“O you who believe, fear God and be with those who are truthful.”

A mothers lap is the first madrasah

I used to think they might just be dealing with something, which is why they’re distant and not showing up when I need them.

Then I realized I experience struggles too.
I have tough days and heavy thoughts, yet I choose not to hurt those around me.

Pain can explain someone’s behaviour, but it doesn’t justify it. We often don’t know what someone is carrying, but we do decide how to handle that burden in the world.

When I’m not okay, I become silent, not mean. When overwhelmed, I create space, not damage.

Everyone faces challenges; it's part of being human. However, not all of us use our struggles as an excuse to hurt others.

The best revenge is becoming the best version of yourself, becoming successful and happy, and loving yourself the best way you can. Never forget how much pain you have suffered and how many times you have picked yourself up every time you were abandoned when you were at your worst. Never forget everything that you have endured while you were having a hard time trying to save yourself from misery. And never forget how many times you have begged people to at least treat you with kindness.

The best revenge is becoming the person that they said you'd never be. Show them how capable and unstoppable you are of becoming the bigger person. Remember that you are a high-value person who is so capable of doing many things. Be patient, because tables turn, and all you have to do is to work hard for yourself. Let yourself grow every day, and show them that you are no longer the same person that they used to know.
