We just ❤️ listening to our community! 🏠 There was so much wisdom, affection, curiosity and big stories from those who came on Saturday to St Richard’s Church for our Spring (summer?) Fayre and Pride in Place ‘have your say’ event.
Well over 200 attended and enjoyed the stalls, bouncy castle, bbq, 🍔 looking at maps…a special shout out to over 30 local volunteers plus Howard and Chris from LS14 Trust who worked so hard to make the day work brilliantly. We raised just over a £1,000 to help replace our broken boiler too.
We are feeling blessed in Seacroft 😇

🌳 research shows that being a Christian leads to a longer and more fulfilled life! One person who may just prove that research true is Marina, pictured here celebrating her 90th birthday at Harehills Labour club on Friday. What a lady and what a dancer 🕺 Marina has been a strong part of Seacroft Parish for decades and goes to St James’ Church. I’m very proud to call her a friend.
Belonging to your local church (or local
faith centre, clubs etc) is just one of the many things that gives us social connections ❤️❤️ throughout our lives as well as a real sense of purpose and belonging.
✝️ St James’ on Seacroft Village Green: call by for the Welcome Cafe Monday lunchtime, services Wed at 10.30am and Sunday 9.30am. Precious life events for all too - baptisms, marriages and funerals. Everyone’s welcome.

Food Hygiene inspection yesterday from Leeds City Council! The inspectors always come unannounced. But phew, hurray and thanks to our amazing teams here who worked together so incredibly hard to safely support all the hospitality we do in our brilliant community, from the Parish Larder Foodbank, welcome café, the Feast, and so much more. Yeah we got a 5!

From Friday evening.
Shabbat shalom.
Sending love and prayers for peace to my brothers and sisters at Sinai synagogue. Thank you for allowing me to join you in prayers this evening. We urge all church leaders to speak out loudly in their parishes and congregations to condemn the attacks in Golders Green this week and all antisemitism and other forms of racism.

Whinmoor St Pauls CofE Primary School brings Easter to life in a way in a way that is both profound and relevant to each child. Their Easter Labyrinth visits different parts of Jesus last days, with each class interpreting it in their own pupil-lead way with debate, drama, art and theology. It is utterly mesmerising, impressive and moving.
