Pressure can reveal which voice has become louder within us.
Sometimes the problem before us begins speaking more strongly than what we know about God. When that happens, the size of the challenge can start determining the level of our confidence in Him.
Philippians 4:6 does not tell believers to deny their problems. It teaches us to bring every concern to God through prayer, supplication and thanksgiving.
Prayer directs the problem towards God, while thanksgiving keeps our minds attentive to His goodness. The situation may still be real, but it does not have to become greater in our thinking than the God to whom we pray.
