Our next Walking the Way takes place on Sunday 8th November at 2pm in Ripponden.

We’ll meet at Royd Lane car park, Royd Lane, Ripponden, HX6 4BG, where parking is free on Sundays.

A big thank you to Neil for finding this walk for us and to Kam for kindly leading the walk.

Walk Information:

* Distance: 3.5 miles
* Difficulty: Moderate, with some inclines and descents
* Terrain: Steps down with a handrail and one stile with a bar across. The route may be muddy and slippery in wet weather, so please take care.
* Facilities: No facilities along the route, but pubs and cafés are available near the start and finish.
* Recommended: Walking boots and walking poles.

Please note: This will be our final walk of the year, as there will be no walk in December. We’ll take a break over the festive season and look forward to walking together again in January.

REMEMBRANCE & THANKSGIVING SERVICE - Saturday October 31st 2026 at Christ Church Hipperholme, at 11.00 am. Downstairs in the Hall.

We will remember by name, and give thanks for, the lives of those we know who have died in the past year and light a candle in their memory.

There will also be an opportunity to remember others who have been close to us, who have died and light a candle for them too.

You will be able to light a candle, yourself, if you wish.

Refreshments will be served at the end of the service.

As the Baby Loss Alliance begins its annual campaign, on 9 October, to raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss; the importance of bereavement support and of the vital work that is needed to improve pregnancy outcomes, we join together in this prayer 🙏

Creator God,
Who loved us before the world began and knit us together in the womb.
We know each and every life you create is precious to you.
We remember all who have been loved, and, especially this baby loss awareness week, those whose memories we cherish.
Be with all who grieve, wherever they are in their journey.
Help us to share our stories, and remember the babies forever carried in our hearts

Our next walk – Sunday 11th October, 2pm

Our next walk takes place this Sunday at 2pm, starting from Baitings Reservoir car park, Rochdale Road, HX6 4LP.
Free parking is available.

Walk details

* Distance: 2.9 miles
* Difficulty: Moderate – includes moderate inclines and descents
* Approximately 30 steps down, with no handrail
* 5 stiles, including one high stone stile
* No facilities available along the route
* Walking boots and poles are recommended, particularly if wet, as some sections can be uneven, slippery and boggy
* There are sheep in some of the fields, so please keep dogs on leads

Please come prepared for the terrain and weather, and we look forward to seeing you!
