NEW MINISTER
Heath, along with New Hope and New Providence United Reformed Churches have appointed a new minister, Tafadzwa Kasere. He is coming into the URC on a Certificate of Eligibility from one of our partner churches in Zimbabwe. Tafadzwa is 42 and married with three children aged 15, 13 and 6.
He gained a Bachelor of Theology degree in 2015, completed during a one year posting as a minister. He then spent 3 and 4 years in two other churches within the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa, before moving to his present post in Bulawayo. Whilst in post he spent a year at the University of Edinburgh (2025) where he gained a Master of Theology degree.
Tafadzwa’s experience and skills include; pastoral care, community development, youth and sports ministry, intercultural and ecumenical work and using digital tools for ministry (including livestreaming worship)
In Tafadzwa’s own words, his priorities in ministry are: a Christ-centred, spiritually vibrant community where every person feels valued and equipped to serve. I seek to encourage active participation in the
life and work of the Church, empowering members of all ages to grow in faith and discipleship.
My priorities include pastoral care, faith formation through Scripture, and equipping individuals to live out their faith in practical and compassionate ways within the wider community. Above all, my ministry is guided by faith, service, and community. My vision is to serve within a Church that continues to transform lives, build community, and proclaim Jesus.
