🕉️ Divine Friends 🕉️

Tomorrow is a very special day in Skanda Vale🛕. It is the anniversary of Sri Ranganatha Temple and also our beloved Guru Sri Subramanium's birthday.

All are welcome to join us for a Puja in Guru's Samadhi at 3pm and for a special Mahabhishekam starting at 9.30pm in the Sri Ranganatha Temple.

Guru's life was an example of perfect trust in God. He never planned anything, but took inspiration and direction, moment by moment, from the Divine.

In this video, Guru talks about how the Lord gave him the inspiration to build the Sri Ranganatha Temple: skandavale.org/journal/stories/sri-ranganatha-temple-inauguration/

Online Livestream: skandavale.org/livestream-pujas/

Note: There is no 5am Puja in the Murugan Temple on Saturday, 31st October.

🕉️ PRAYER REQUESTS 🕉️

Skanda Vale offers devotees an opportunity to seek 'Divine Grace' through prayer requests.

Prayer requests can be submitted for yourself, your family or someone you know via: skandavale.org/contact-us/prayer-requests/

All prayers are printed and offered at the lotus feet of Devi and the Lord.

Guru Sri Subramanium established Skanda Vale on the basis that God is free to all of life and services such as this, follow the same principle.

Be of greater service to the Divine Mother.

She'll give you a great extension to your life and make use of you, because you're doing a good job.

I'm happy when people serve God and make use of their life that is given to them.

Aquila connects with God through the elements.

In this video, she shares how she relates to the different aspects of Divine Mother through earth, water, fire, air and ether, and how each element opens a doorway to the Divine ✨

The natural settings of Skanda Vale and Somaskanda allow the elements to be magnified, and all of them are celebrated at the culmination of Navaratri during our Dasara pujas.

🪷 Dasara, 20th October, Mahabhishekam to Lakshmi, Saraswati and Durga Ma. All are welcome to join us in our temples.

Sr Ally shares how, for her, Navaratri is not just a festival - it is a time to pay extra attention to the Divine Mother. It is a chance to reset ourselves, to come back into focused, intentional time, and to consciously use the heightened spiritual energy that becomes so alive in the temples 🪷

During Navaratri, we celebrate the Divine Mother as Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi.

She is in everything that you are a part of in your life. So she will relate to you as, and in what state of evolution, you are. She will give you that strength to evolve, to discover that 'total surrender' is necessary for the person to be totally liberated in this life.

Guru — Sri Subramanium (Founder of Skanda Vale), experienced her intense Shakti, seeing her as Kali and other myriad forms, and became her instrument — filled with childlike wonder at her intoxicating presence.

Divine Mother manifests when there is compassion and care for her children — the birds, animals, plants and trees. True worship of Devi is recognising the divine spark in all of life and serving it with love.

Join us for her Navaratri darshan every evening at 6pm in the Temple or online:

🕉️ The NAVARATRI celebrations begin on the 11th October and end with Dasara on the 20th October.

At Skanda Vale, we are blessed with a special connection to Devi as one of the core values in the community is recognising the divine in all of life and serving with love.

In this video, two of our sisters share what this festival means to them, how they prepare for it, and they explain about a simple lamp ritual you can do at home 🪔

Navaratri at our ashrams is celebrated with daily Mahabhishekams to Devi, and you are welcome to join us in person at Skanda Vale (6pm UK time) or Somaskanda (7pm Swiss time).

You can also join online:

Ten years of Somaskanda 🙏

The whole team pitched in: making garlands, cooking, decorating the ashram and preparing the pujas.

The anniversary was celebrated over two days with an abhishekam to Nandi and kumba pujas to Lord Somaskanda, Lord Ganesh and various other aspects of the Divine.

We held a beautiful and sacred yagam outside, and gathered for satsang in the temple with the community.

Both days finished with lunch in the sun, happy and uplifted.

Thank you to everyone who made this very special weekend happen.

Om Somaskandaya Namo Namah ✨ Arohara Arohara Arohara 🙌

You have to be very careful and protect this light within yourself. That light — that Divine light is an attractive force — draws everything to you, and you have to shield that light within yourself. Learning how to shield that light is a part of growing up spiritually as a human being.

When you start on a spiritual journey, you must be aware that you will draw many forces around you, to you, and you must be very discriminating and careful as you proceed on the journey of spirituality.
