Demystifying Buddhist Devotion: a day retreat for Young People
Saturday 5th September
10am to 4.30pm

Open to all aged 18 to 35.

No need to book. Suggested donation of £8 concession / £12.50 waged.

There will be a talk, workshop, ritual, meditation and musical offering.

During the morning we will be exploring what the purpose of Buddhist devotion is, how it fits into the rest of practice and why it is an essential part of connecting to something higher.

If we are honest, we tend to be devoted to money, power or s*x; but what would it be like to devote our lives fully to ideal and perfect Enlightenment? What does that even mean and do we have to give everything else up?

Come with questions, there is nothing we can’t talk about!

In the afternoon there will be a musical offering and a ritual.

Led by Adityabandhu, Callum and Team

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course
Starts Monday, 5 October, 7–9 pm
8 weeks plus an Orientation week.

The MBCT courses teach meditation and use CBT exercises to enable us to work with the mechanisms underlying difficult mind states.

This enables us to recognise negative patterns of mind earlier, and helps us develop greater choice and flexibility over how to respond. This builds resilience and confidence rather than running off old, unhelpful patterns of reacting.

This course has been tried and tested over many years of clinical application and is not suitable for people who are currently clinically depressed.

This Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course is led by experienced teacher Kate Gooch (Kavyashri)

Life with Full Attention –
A practical course in mindfulness

8 Wednesdays, 6.30 - 8.30pm
starting 14th October
(with a break on 28th October)

We often feel like we’re not living life to the full. It’s as if instead of directly experiencing life we’re lost in a cacophony of thought, anxiety and chaos. The Buddha’s mindfulness teachings are far more than a way of coping with the stress of the modern world - they are a direct way of seeing deeply into the truth of life and living from that.

Suitable for newcomers and those returning to basics.

Full £120 / Concession £80 / Low waged, receiving benefits, student £60

Puja Course - Puja: What's it all about?
Monday 28th September
7pm to 9pm, 4 weeks

‘Puja’ is the name given to devotional practice within our movement. It is an act of ritual and receptivity, in which we open ourselves up to the transcendental: the mythic realm of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Intrigued? Want to know more?
