We’re so grateful to have Pelumi Aworinde as part of the Kerith team, serving as one of our Site Pastors at Bracknell. We asked Pelumi to share a little more about himself, his journey, and what he loves about being part of the Kerith community.
"Though born in Nigeria, I spent most of my early childhood in the States before heading back to Nigeria at 9. I moved to the UK in my early 40s with my late wife, Rachel and started attending Kerith straightaway. I began working at the church in January 2019 and became a site pastor in October 2020. As one of the two site pastors at Bracknell, I get to shape and drive the vision on our site to impact how, as individuals and a community, we encounter the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our Sunday gatherings, midweek meetings, serving teams and small groups. Outside church life, when it comes to a love for sport, there’s a good chance I’m following what's happening in the world of basketball and remembering when I actually had time (and youthful energy) to play it!
My ideal Saturday is a relatively relaxed morning that starts with personal prayer time, my local Bracknell Parkrun, and a satisfying brunch. If there's a visit or event with family and friends later, I'm off to that. Otherwise, I love me some me-time!
My favourite thing about my job is seeing people grow in their relationship with God. It's such a privilege to either be a part of helping people discover more of God and His unconditional love for us or even just hearing their amazing personal stories of freedom, life-change and growth in Jesus."
