_________
1. Where are you from and what brought you to Germany?
I´m from Houston, Texas.
It all started with a conversation with a friend who we knew from our first time in Germany about Immanuel‘s search for a new pastor.
____
2. How long have you been in Germany and at this church?
Since 2015. However, before that, I was here in Germany from 1992 till 1999 at a German church.
____
3. What is your hobby?
Cooking. I love trying new things and techniques.
____
4. Who are some of your spiritual influences?
• My Campus Minister, where I gave my life to Jesus.
• The Pastor at the church where I got baptized.
• The Pastor at the German church where I served back in the 90s.
• Author Tim Keller.
____
5. What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Ephesians 2:8-9: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
Those verses impacted me because I grew up with little background in church and what I did have was in a very strict and legalistic church where I didn´t really hear about grace. It wasn´t until I got to the university, where the concept of living by grace was clear to me.
____
6. Who is your favorite character in the bible and why?
Peter because he has an impetuous nature. He was weak and unpredictable, but he loved the Lord with all his heart, and Jesus was so patient and forgiving with him.
____
7. What would you like to do, that you still haven´t done yet? (Personal & Ministry)
-Personal: travel to places, where I have not yet been to, especially Prague.
-Ministry: when I´m retired (no rush!), I would like to do German worship services in Madeira.
____
8. What is the best part of being a Pastor?
Getting to be with our people! I love the people at our church, and I love to hear their stories, pain, suffering and miracles. It is a picture of heaven because of all the nationalities and cultures.
____
9. An advice for a new believer?
Find people who you can talk about faith and the Bible with. Don´t do it alone, do it in community, join a small group.
____
10. An advice for a believer, who has been walking with Jesus for a long time?
Be both a disciple and a discipler. Never ever get to a point where you think you know everything.
