1. Where are you from and what brought you to Germany?

I was born in England.

I moved to Germany, near Rüsselsheim, when I was 6 years old because my dad got a job here.

2. How long have you been at IBC?

Regularly, since 2023.

3. What do you do?

I am a ceramic artist, and I work at the humanitarian organization Johanniter.

4. What is your hobby?

Playing guitar and bass, doing ceramics, enjoying nature and spending time with my cat and my dog.

5. What are you thankful for? Beside family and friends.

I am thankful for my relationship with God.

Having found my faith has given me comfort and peace. I know that I can lean on Him and I don´t have to rely on myself.

6. Who are some of your spiritual influences?

My parents!

7. What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

I have two:

- Micah 7:8: "Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light".

- Psalm 34:17-18: “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

I love these verses because they are a reminder that God is close to everyone. They are so simple and basic; they say it all.

8. Who is your favorite character in the Bible and why?

I have three:

-David because of his courage.
-Peter because he was constantly making mistakes and God would always forgive him and give him a chance.
-Ruth because of her loyalty and kindness.

9. What would you like to do that you haven't done yet? (Personal & Ministry)

I would like to write my own worship song.

10. What is the best part of being in the Worship Team?

The comfort, empowerment and warmth I feel while we are all worshiping God.

Surprised by Scripture: Balaam's Talking Donkey (Numbers 22) 🫏📖

Today's message by Pastor Nick was a timely reminder that God is more interested in our hearts than our actions.

Three lessons that stood out:
1️⃣ When our desires outweigh our desire for God, He may allow us to follow our own path—even if it leads to heartache.
2️⃣ Disobedience dulls our spiritual senses. God may use unexpected or radical means to get our attention. Don't be more concerned about looking foolish than hearing God's voice.
3️⃣ Being used by God is no guarantee of a heart fully surrendered to Him.

A message worth reflecting on this week: Seek God above all else, stay sensitive to His voice, and keep your heart close to Him. 🙏

I am from New Jersey.
I came to Germany for work.

2. How long have you been in Germany and at this church?

In Germany since August 2023, and at IBC for more than 2 years.

I work in technology for the U.S. Army.

4. What is your hobby?

I like playing golf and chess, and I also enjoy watching comedy.

5. What are you thankful for? Beside family and friends.

I am thankful for my relationship with the Lord and for the gift of languages.

6. Who are some of your spiritual influences?

-Pastor Richardson: my first pastor many years ago. He was a great influence for the missionary field work I was going to do in the future.

-My wife: how she looks at scripture makes me think and rethink.

7. What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

Psalm 37:4: "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart".

I like this verse because it encourages me to commit my thinking and my actions to God. It makes me want to be more like him.

8. Who is your favorite character in the Bible and why? Beside Jesus.

King Jehu from the Old Testament.
He was a great warrior, and although he had flaws, he still encouraged me to be fearless.

9. What would you like to do that you haven't done yet? (Personal & Ministry)

Personal: I would like to learn French and do Skydiving.

Ministry: I would like to go back to ministry, supporting other ministries and my wife´s cooking ministry.

10. What is the best part of being a Deacon?

The best part is being able to be helpful. I like to give value. When I see a need in the church, I like to look for a plan or a concept for it.
