Imagine an all-powerful, sovereign, holy God, making Himself available to hear our petitions, cary our burdens, reveal His will, and share His heart. Actually, imagine Him making Himself available for us to approach Him at all. Jesus suffered and died to give us full access to the Father and make this closeup encounter a perpetual possibility. Are we taking full advantage of what was done for us - the privilege we’ve been given? Before we become anxious, start moving, or begin putting together a “plan B”, let’s resolve to pray. As the adopted sons and daughters of the Most High God, we have access to the only One who is in control of it all - the Owner of all substance, space and time. He’s willing to order our steps and make all our paths straight, if only we will trust Him.

Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice, when He died to pay the penalty for our sins. So, praise God, salvation is “free“. But there is a cost for discipleship. To truly follow Jesus, you will have to make the sacrifice. We must die to the world and to ourselves if we want to experience life in Him.
