What a narrow soul those are who jealously guard their "list of grievances"!... It is impossible to live with such wretches (Furrow, 738).
Forgive. Forgive with all your heart and without a trace of resentment! An attitude that is always great and fruitful. —That was Christ's gesture when he was nailed to the cross: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing," and from that came your salvation and mine (Furrow, 805).

God is not scandalized by humankind. God does not tire of our infidelities (Christ Is Passing By, 64).

I have never mistreated anyone who has turned their back on me, not even when my desire to help has been met with shamelessness (Friends of God, 59).

*INTENTION*
My God, I know that resentment is a wound that prideful self-love opens and stirs in the heart, a gangrene that hatred cultivates within the soul. I fear it, my God, because I have already discovered it within me, clinging like a cancer.

Someone said that resentment is the devil's furnace. They were right. I too feel that rancor is a cursed fire that burns away the love, understanding, and peace that should always characterize the relationship between God's children.

Deliver me from it, Jesus! Help me to expel this evil through frequent confession.

Grant me, through the intercession of Saint Josemaría, strength from Heaven to forgive, to forget.

May I hold no grudges.

On the contrary, let me keep my sorrows within your heart and there learn to say, “Father, forgive them!” (Luke 23:34).
