Translation:
Currently the 'Asahood Berlin e.V.' association constitutes of a handfull members in Greater Berlin. They are families, couples, singles, blue and white collar workers as well as students - in short, persons from all stages and levels of life. Contrasting to other 'Asatru' associations our community not solely focus on the pure 'Asatru' elements but on the friendship between its members. That makes us a local group without the goal of expanding its geographical base. However, the faith in our gods constitutes a fundamental element in our lives. Together as a group we celebrate and hold dear a forgotten culture. Adopted to modern life, we organize and revive old celebrations with distinctive rituals and ceremonies. In addition to that, we also provide spiritual assistance to each other. For example, we mutually discuss the meaning and comprehension of our beliefs in our modern life. We are also able to create and conduct rituals like the birth of another human being or the matrimony of two adults. For ourselves - to use modern words - we are parish, borough, community and priest in one entity. However, we do not want to substitute and do not perform any public and legal functions. We leave that to the modern world we live in. If that all sounds to you very simple and not quite exciting, than you are not mistaken. We do not want to be missionaries in the modern world and we also do not want to publicly advance the acceptance of our religion by the modern world. We leave that to other associations which state and work for those goals publicly. However, our members are free to join any associations they wish to if they want to advance those goals. We also do not have political goals and we accept all political views, as far as they are legal and not off-limits. As with political views, we do not accept and do not tolerate any off-limits and extreme views of thereof. Our community itself is the sole body of jurisdictions of ourselves and we for ourselves deem to decide what we believe extreme religious beliefs are. Together with applicable law that is also true for extreme political views. We believe in openness, forthrightness, and tolerance as they are the pillars of 'Asatru' and we will stand firm to our beliefs. However, we do not tolerate extremism in any form whatsoever.
