Rev. Kate here. Part of our Christian journey is deepening our discipleship - moving deeper into our faith, and strengthening our relationship with God. There are so many ways that we can do this! Some of my own practices include prayer, reading, bible study (yes, I know that technically I'm the facilitator there, but I always get so much out of our weekly gatherings), music (both listening to and making), and regular worship.

The beginning of September always feels like the start of a new year, even for those of us who have been out of school for a while. As you begin this "new year," what is one new practice that you might like to try to deepen or strengthen your discipleship. How might you deepen your relationship with Jesus, just as his first disciples did?

Happy September! It is now the season of cooler evenings, changing leaves, back to school, and new beginnings. Maybe it is a season for you to make a new beginning on your prayer life, journeying with God throughout your day.

How can we pray for you this week? Broadview (formerly known as the United Church Observer) is the magazine of the United Church of Canada and has been published continually (under different names) since 1829 - that's 197 years of publishing experience! 6 times a year, it comes out with an issue that is jam-packed with thought-provoking journalism written from a perspective of faith and/or spirituality; with additional writing found on their website.

Last Movie Night of the Summer!
With Labour Day approaching next weekend, our last summer movie night of 2026 will be on Tuesday September 1 at 7pm in the parlour at Westfield United Church.
