Even though Saint John's Pride Week will be later in the summer (July 17-26), we also celebrate Pride Month around here, which is marked internationally in the month of June.
Here is a Pride Month message from the Moderator of The United Church of Canada, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath. She is reflecting on the apology that was issued by the church last August, and how that is a beginning and not an ending. We affirm that everyone is beautifully created in God's image - all people of every gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, language, creed, age, ability. Yet the church has messed up in the past (and still sometimes messes up today). We are truly sorry for the harm that we, as the church, have done; and we continually strive to do better - to model God's radically inclusive love. https://youtu.be/tH6JkGe3ME0?si=VXB0srq90WLX-EgU
