Today, we celebrate the Sunday of the Most Holy Trinity. Itโs the mystery of one God present in three Divine Persons: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This perfect communion of everlasting love fills our lives with grace and unity.
The important lesson for us to remember is that God is a family based on love.
God is the communion of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This mystery is deep and difficult to explain. Love doesnโt exist on its own. It requires relationship and mutual exchange. There arenโt three gods, but only one God.
Humanity is created in the image of God โ a family of love. God is relationship, and we should live in relationship. Love is the base of all human connections, and it comes from God. Our deepest hurts often come from wounded relationships, and our greatest joys come from relationships that are healed.
Today also, some children in our parish celebrated their first Reconciliation. This sacrament is also about love, as God helps them grow in the grace they have received.
Love is not optional. We are invited to make Godโs love visible in our relationships. That can be done by sharing love, forgiving, and opening our hearts to our brothers and sisters in need. That will help us become living images of the Holy Trinity and Godโs presence.
